Let's make a beautiful fun fold with the new Butterfly Bijou paper! This paper is part of the Butterfly Bouquet suite of products that are an early release from the 2021-2 Annual Catalog but the paper is only available while supplies last from 3/2/21-5/3/21. You are going to want at least one packet of this paper--I just ordered my second package yesterday as I've been using it like crazy.

The flier above shows the large, single stamp as well as the dies that go with it. There are dies that cut out some of the images from the paper as ones that cut out individual butterflies and some that cut a lacy layer to go over the butterflies. I will demo this more once I actually have the dies and stamp set, hopefully next week! But let's get going on making this card. You will need:

  1. Magenta Madness cardstock cut 4 1/4 by 5 1/2", a second piece cut 4 1/4 by 2 3/4" (#153080)
  2. Just Jade cardstock cut 8 by 5 1/4" scored at 4" (#153079), and a scrap for the oval
  3. Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper (DSP) cut 2 1/2 by 4", a second piece cut 3 1/2" by 3 1/2" cut corner to corner on a diagonal (#156824). You can use the extra for your envelope flap.
  4. Whisper White/Basic White cut 5 by 3 3/4" for the inside, and a scrap for the sentiment oval
  5. Tasteful Textile embossing folder (#152718)
  6. Just Jade ink (#153115)
  7. 2020-22 In Color Enamel dots (#152480)
  8. Wink of Stella (#141897)
  9. Double Oval Punch (#154242)
  10. Sentiment is from Hydrangea Haven (#154470) stamp set
  11. Foam Adhesive Strips (#141825)
  12. Basic supplies--scissors, bone folders, Dimensionals, Multipurpose Liquid Glue
If you are more of a visual learner, you can watch my Facebook live on Stamp with Dr Robin Facebook page below.

Start with the 8 by 5 1/4" piece of Just Jade and fold it in half on the score lines. Put what will be the front of the card inside the Tasteful Textile embossing folder and fold the back side of the card around the back of the embossing folder. You will want to make sure the embossing will completely cover the front of the card, so put a bit OVER the fold line into the embossing folder. This is how the back will look folded over. Run it through your embossing machine.

Now take the 3 1/2 by 3 1/2" piece of Butterfly DSP and if you haven't already, cut it in half along the diagonal, then score the long (diagonal side you just cut) at 1/2" and fold it under. Trim away the little parts that stick out the side.

Now attach the little 1/2" folded part to the top and bottom of the BACK of the folded Just Jade piece like the picture on the left using the glue. The picture on the right shows how it will fold over the top in the end.

Now open the Just Jade card and attach the Whisper or Basic White piece. You might want to stamp something on that before attaching, like a butterfly or another sentiment, but I left mine blank. Fold this up and the flaps over the top and attach it to the larger Magenta Madness piece.

Now attach the  2 1/2 by 4" piece of DSP to the smaller piece of Magenta Madness. Attach just the top part of this piece to the front top triangle, centering it on the card. DO NOT attach the bottom of this piece--it will fold over  the bottom triangle.

Punch a scrap of Whisper/Basic White with the smaller oval and a piece of Just Jade with the scalloped oval. Stamp your sentiment using Just Jade and attach it to the scalloped oval. Attach it to the front of your card using Dimensionals. Put a couple of the In Color dots on it.

Cut out the Just Jade butterfly from the DSP either by fussy cutting or using the dies. Attach it just down the center of the body with a piece of Foam Adhesive strip. Now cover it with Wink of Stella, 'cuz every card needs a little bling.

If you want to use up your extra paper, use it on the envelope flap. Here's a close up of the front.

And here's a picture of another card I made using this same fold and DSP.
