Plentiful Plants meets Plenty of Patterns Masks

Image
Plentiful Plants meets Plenty of Patterns Masks   I have to admit when I first saw the Bloom Where You're Planted Suite on page 80-81 if the 2021-22 Annual Stampin' Up Catalog I wasn't impressed. Then I bought the paper as I was doing a paper share and started cutting out the little plants and was hooked, so then I had another look at the stamp set and dies and fell in love with the macramé plant hanger and had to have the dies and before you know it, the bundle was on its way to my house. And I've had such fun playing with it and I'm sure you will too. I will be using this for my next stamp class on Sunday July 25th so if you are in San Diego and want to come, let me know.  First gather your supplies: 1.  Soft Succulent card bases cut 8 1/2 by 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" and folded. Another piece of Soft Succulent 4 by 5 1/4" 2.  Whisper/Basic White cut 4 by 5 1/4" for the inside and 3/4" by 2 1/4" scrap for the sentiment and another scrap

10 Ways to use Pretty Flower Embossing Folder

10 Ways to use Pretty Flower Embossing Folder  You may have overlooked this beautiful new Embossing Folder in the new 2021-22 Annual Catalog. It's on page 155 but since it isn't attached to a specific stamp set or suite, it's easy to miss it. If you look closely, they used it on a card on page 36 also and that would be an 11th way to use it--fussy cut out the flowers and attach them to a card. They also used it on a mini Paper Pumpkin box on page 70. The first 2 cards are shown in more detail on my blog from 6/21/21 and the Facebook Live attached below. As you can tell, I was needing more thank you cards when I made all these! 1. Emboss on thick Basic White. Use Blending Brushes and Sponge Daubers to color 2. Emboss on Vellum, color on the back with Blending Brushes or Sponge Daubers and Blender Pens 3. Emboss on Shimmer Vellum--so much more sparkly in real life. 4. Emboss on the back side of the Shimmer Vellum for a different look. 5. Put ink on the inside of the embossing

3 Ways to use your Pretty Flowers  Embossing Folder I just love this new Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder on page 155 in the new 2021-22 Annual Catalog! On my blog to day I will show you 3 different ways to use this folder and later this week I will show you even more ways to use it on a different blog post. You can also watch my Facebook Live below for more ways to use this, and other, embossing folders. For this first card I used Blending Brushes and Sponge Daubers on Thick Basic White cardstock and for the second card I used the same colors on Vellum. First gather your supplies: 1. Polished Pink and Thick Whisper/Basic White card bases cut 11 by 4 1/4" scored at 5 1/2" and folded  2. Thick Whisper/Basic White and Vellum cut 4 by 5 1/4" 3. Whisper/Basic White cut with the Stitched So Sweetly or the Stitched Rectangle dies for the sentiment piece and a 4 by 5 1/4" or 3 3/4 by 5" piece for the inside. 4. Pretty Flower Embossing Folder (#155428) 5. Stitched So S

Garden Birdhouses Meet Pattern Play DSP

Image
Garden Birdhouses Meet Pattern Play DSP I'm not sure if you noticed this cute stamp set on page 107 of the new 2021-22 Annual Catalog but you need to take a look at it because you are going to want it. The stamp set is a stand alone set--no dies, no fancy paper, but it does have 3 adorable bird houses, 3 cute birds that want to hop off your cards as well as a branch and some flowers and all-around useful sentiments in a great, modern font. What more could you ask for in a stamp set for only $18!!  Now let's talk a minute about the Playful Pattern DSP on page 171 of the catalog because you may have missed that too. You can ONLY buy this DSP if your order (or your party) is over $150 and you have Stampin' Rewards to spend. But notice for only $18 you get 48(!) pieces of 12 by 12" DSP--that's like a quadruple pack of DSP for $18!! Such a great deal. Let's make this cute card. First gather your supplies: 1. Whisper/Basic White card base cut 8 1/2 by 5 1/2" sco

More fun with alcohol and Blends

Image
More fun with alcohol and Blends If you watched my Facebook live on 6/8/21 I showed you how to use our Stampin' Blends on vellum and then add alcohol to create some beautiful backgrounds. Today I thought I'd show you some other cards I made using this technique. This first one used the Dark  Soft Succulent, Balmy Blue, Night of Navy and Daffodil Delight Blends. Below is how I randomly colored it before adding the alcohol. Once dry I glued it to a Pacific Point card base, added a strip of the Well Suited DSP and a sentiment from Geared Up Garage as I needed a Father's Day card for my husband (don't tell him please). For this card I used all the new In Colored Dark Blends--Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent, Pale Papaya, Polished Pink and Fresh Freesia. I then attached it to a piece of White cardstock, attached that to a piece of Pale Papaya cardstock embossed with the Brick and Mortar 3D Embossing Folder. I then used the Color and Contour stamp set in Basic Black and Pol

Love is Love

Love is Love June is LGBTQ+ Pride Month and I wanted to make a card to honor that, as well as to play with the technique of using alcohol markers on vellum. And who doesn't like a rainbow of color? Obviously you can use this technique in many ways and use the rainbow background however you'd like. If you come back tomorrow, I will post some more cards using this technique. And, as always if you are a visual learner you can always watch my Facebook live below to learn more. First gather your supplies: 1. Whisper/Basic White card base cut 8 1/2 by 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" and folded  2. Vellum cut 4 by 5 1/4" 3. Playful Alphabet Dies (#152706) 4. Be Mine Stitched Dies (retired) or something else, like the Dog Punch, to cut some hearts 5. Scraps of Black and Poppy Parade for the hearts and letters 6. Foam Adhesive Strips (#141825) or Foam Adhesive Sheets (#152815) 7. Blends-- Dark Poppy Parade, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Shaded Spruce, Night of Navy, Blackberry

Forever & Always meets Fresh Freesia

Image
Forever & Always meets Fresh Freesia  As the January-June Mini catalog winds down this month, I thought I'd have a play with the Forever and Always bundle before it goes away forever, as well as all the beautiful DSP I paired it with. Believe it or not, I've owned this bundle for 6 months and had not inked it up prior to this--I'd only used the dies in the past! And don't get me started on the True Love DSP-so many uses for this black and white DSP but when you color it with your Blends or using the new Blending Brushes it becomes a whole other level of gorgeous. I figure I can use this card for weddings or anniversaries as I seem to always need those cards.  If you want any of these products you need to order them now as when they are gone, they are gone. Also, many of the products in the Jan-June Mini catalog are on clearance sale through the end of the month so order by clicking on the little robin above left. For instance, the Love You Always Foil I used in the
