 More fun with alcohol and Blends

If you watched my Facebook live on 6/8/21 I showed you how to use our Stampin' Blends on vellum and then add alcohol to create some beautiful backgrounds. Today I thought I'd show you some other cards I made using this technique. This first one used the Dark  Soft Succulent, Balmy Blue, Night of Navy and Daffodil Delight Blends. Below is how I randomly colored it before adding the alcohol. Once dry I glued it to a Pacific Point card base, added a strip of the Well Suited DSP and a sentiment from Geared Up Garage as I needed a Father's Day card for my husband (don't tell him please).

For this card I used all the new In Colored Dark Blends--Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent, Pale Papaya, Polished Pink and Fresh Freesia. I then attached it to a piece of White cardstock, attached that to a piece of Pale Papaya cardstock embossed with the Brick and Mortar 3D Embossing Folder. I then used the Color and Contour stamp set in Basic Black and Polished pink on a white piece of cardstock. That was attached with Dimensionals then a wrapped in Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon, a couple of Polished Pink rhinestones randomly stuck on then the whole thing attached to a Pale Papaya card base. 


This last one is my favorite. Again I used all the new In Color Dark Blends and attached that to a Fresh Freesia card base. Then a little strip of the Pansy Petals DSP and a Stitched Rectangle stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink using the Pansy Patch sentiment that is raised up with Dimensionals. I used the new Shimmer Vellum in Fresh Freesia to cut out a Brilliant Wings Butterfly and adorned him with 3 Fresh Freesia rhinestones. Love it!

  Floating Christmas Tree So if you make a lot of holiday cards like I do, it is time to start working on them! I know, I know, we haven't had Halloween yet, but if you want to send them out before the holiday it is time to get working. And this lovely card was inspired by someone else (sorry I just took a picture of it but there was no name on it so I can't thank you) who used her scraps to make the tree. I took it one step further and made a floating scraps tree. I've been wanting to make a card with this technique for a while and I knew this tree would look fabulous like this. And the second bonus is that I got to use up a ton of Lights Aglow scraps, even the small ones. All you need to do is cut your scraps into 1/2" pieces, attach them to a piece of window sheet and then cut out whatever shape you like.   Pick of the Patch Joy Fold Card This fun joy fold card just makes me smile. I'm loving the Pick of the Patch bundle lately for its versatility--it can make beautiful fall cards, great Thanksgiving cards, and today a Halloween card. And all from a relatively inexpensive punch bundle. Now are you wondering where the Pumpkin Pie Designer Series Paper in the background is from? It's not DSP--I made it with the Sketched Plaid background stamp. Another versatile stamp set that I'm sure will be making an appearance on some holiday cards later this year. Playing with Thoughtful Journey DSP Hopefully you have received your new 2024-25 Annual Catalog by now--if not please email me at stampwithdrrobin@gmail.com and let me send you one if you don't have a demonstrator. I am making a card today using the gorgeous 6" by 6" Thoughtful Journey DSP as each page is more beautiful than the last.
