Garden Birdhouses Meet Pattern Play DSP




I'm not sure if you noticed this cute stamp set on page 107 of the new 2021-22 Annual Catalog but you need to take a look at it because you are going to want it. The stamp set is a stand alone set--no dies, no fancy paper, but it does have 3 adorable bird houses, 3 cute birds that want to hop off your cards as well as a branch and some flowers and all-around useful sentiments in a great, modern font. What more could you ask for in a stamp set for only $18!! 

Now let's talk a minute about the Playful Pattern DSP on page 171 of the catalog because you may have missed that too. You can ONLY buy this DSP if your order (or your party) is over $150 and you have Stampin' Rewards to spend. But notice for only $18 you get 48(!) pieces of 12 by 12" DSP--that's like a quadruple pack of DSP for $18!! Such a great deal. Let's make this cute card.

First gather your supplies:
1. Whisper/Basic White card base cut 8 1/2 by 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" and folded 
2. Playful Pattern DSP--the striped piece is 5 1/2 by 4 1/4" and the green piece is die cut using the largest Scalloped Contours Die. If you have a 1/2" scrap of either of these, cut it to 4 1/4" for the inside
3. Basic White cut with the second largest Scalloped Contours Die
4. Scalloped Contours Dies (#155560 or 158356 for the bundle)
5. Garden Birdhouses stamp set (#155090)
6. Ink--Granny Apple Green, Flirty Flamingo, Memento Black
7. 2021-23 In Color Jewels
8. Blends-- Dark Pale Papaya, Dark Flirty Flamingo, Light and Dark Pool Party
9. Basic supplies--bone folder, adhesive (Multipurpose Glue), Dimensionals, Piercing Mat

This card comes together pretty quickly. First take the Basic White Scalloped Contours die cut and stamp the branches. Then in Memento Black stamp the little stick that the birdhouse is hanging from and then stamp a birdhouse of your choice and a couple of birds. Stamp a sentiment in Flirty Flamingo.

Using your Blends, color in the bird house and the birds. See my Facebook Live below for how I did that or any other questions you have. Here's a close up.


Fold your card base in half and attach the striped paper with Multipurpose Glue, then the green cut DSP piece. Attach your stamped piece with Dimensionals. Add a few of the In Color jewels--I used 3 of the little Pale Papaya ones on this card and 3 of the Soft Succulent ones on the card I made in my live. 

I attached a small strip of the DSP inside and stamped and colored another bird. And you are done! Easy, quick, cute card!

  Floating Christmas Tree So if you make a lot of holiday cards like I do, it is time to start working on them! I know, I know, we haven't had Halloween yet, but if you want to send them out before the holiday it is time to get working. And this lovely card was inspired by someone else (sorry I just took a picture of it but there was no name on it so I can't thank you) who used her scraps to make the tree. I took it one step further and made a floating scraps tree. I've been wanting to make a card with this technique for a while and I knew this tree would look fabulous like this. And the second bonus is that I got to use up a ton of Lights Aglow scraps, even the small ones. One Horse Open Sleigh Card We have a lot of wonderful things starting 7/6/23 over on Stampin' Up.
