Sweet Ice Cream goes to Disney

Sweet Ice Cream goes to Disney

I just love how fun and happy this card is! And it reminds me of so many wonderful days spent at Disneyland. And of ice cream, and who doesn't like ice cream?

I have to say that I would never have thought that our Ice Cream Builder punch could be used to make Mickey and Minnie ice cream pops, but thanks to Patty Bennett and Barb Stewart for their creativity in seeing this and inspiration in making this card.

Take a note below that many of the items I used to make this card are retiring soon and are while supplies last now, so if you want them you need to order asap. I'd especially recommend, if you don't have them, the Stitched Shapes dies and the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder. They are both a must have in your stamping collection and I will never sell mine.

Supplies for this card:
      1. Whisper White/Basic White thick cardstock cut 8 1/2 by 5 1/2" scored on the long side at 4 1/4" and then 1" cut off the front.
      2.Whisper White/Basic White cardstock cut 3" by 5 1/4"
      3. Trimming the Town DSP cut 1" by 5 1/4"--this is retired but you can use the Poppy Parade polka dots from the Brights 6 by 6" DSP Assortment (#152487)
      4. Poppy Parade cardstock 3 1/4" by 1 1/4"
      5. Scraps of Early Espresso, Whisper/Basic White and Poppy Parade cardstock for the popsicles.
      6. Stamp Bundle-Sweet Ice Cream
      7. Dog Builder Punch
      8. Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder --retiring soon and on sale now
      9. 2020-22 In-Color Dots --retiring soon
      10. Frost White Shimmer paint --retiring soon
      11. Ink--Cinnamon Cider and Early Espresso
      12. Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles
      13. Flowers for Every Season DSP cut with the largest circle from the Stitched Shaped Dies--both retiring soon.
14.Basic supplies--scissors, bone folders, Dimensionals, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Piercing Mat

Directions:

Fold your Whisper White/Basic White card base along the score line. If you haven't already, cut 1" off the front of your usual card base. Attach the polka dot piece to the inside of the card, leaving an even edge around the top/bottom/right edge.

Run the 3 by 5 1/4" piece of Whisper/Basic White cardstock through your embossing machine using your Dainty Diamonds embossing folder and attach it to the front using Dimensionals.

Using Cinnamon Cider ink and the more solid popsicle stick, stamp off once and then stamp on a scrap of Whisper/Basic White cardstock. Using full strength Cinnamon Cider ink and the squiggly lined popsicle stick, stamp over your first stamp. You need 2 of these and will then fussy cut them out.

For the popsicles themselves, using the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch, punch 2 ice creams in Early Espresso. In Poppy Parade, punch just the bottom of the circle as below and attach it (I used Multipurpose Glue for all of this) to the bottom of what will be the Mickey ice cream. Using the Dog Builder Punch, punch 2 Poppy Parade hears. Attach the points together on the other ice cream and put a Bumblebee In Color dot in the center for a bow. Put 2 more of these dots on Mickey's pants. Attach the popsicle sticks to the back of the ice cream and then attach it to the stitched circle. Attach the circle to the card with Dimensionals.

Put a little blob of glue in the corners (or where ever you like) and add some of the Ice Cream Corner sprinkles.

Using Early Espresso ink and the 2 sentiments (I put them both on the same block and only stamped once), stamp on the piece of Poppy Parade cardstock. Attach this to the card with Dimensionals.

Now go enjoy some ice cream!
