Beautiful Friendship--Split Front Card
Beautiful Friendship--Split Front Card
It's a beautiful, sunny day in San Diego today (as are most of them) with the highs in the mid-70s so it's basically a perfect Spring day, which is why I thought to play with the Beautiful Friendship stamp set! I've made so many cards with this stamp set, and no matter what color combination you use, it's always a gorgeous card. But the sad thing about this stamp set is that it is retiring on May 3rd, so if you like it you'd better snap it up now. So grab 3 colors that go together and any of our Stampin' Up greens for the leaves and have a go at these easy cards--this will be a 2 for 1 card class. Here are the 2 cards separately.
Supplies you will need for these cards:
1. Whisper or Basic White cardstock cut 8 1/2 by 5 1/2"
2. Rich Razzleberry cardstock cut 4 1/8" by 5 3/8" X2
3. Daffodil Delight cardstock cut 8 1/2 by 5 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4" and folded in half, X2
4.Whisper White/Basic White cut 5 by 3 3/4" for the inside X2
5. Stamp set--Beautiful Friendship (#149252)
6. Ink--Rich Razzleberry, Highland Heather, Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green
7.Basic supplies-- bone folder, Dimensionals, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Piercing Mat
Directions for the card:
Start by aligning your 1/2 sheet of Whisper White cardstock on your grid paper in a landscape mode, so that you can tell where center is, or make some light pencil marks top and bottom to help you stamp. Then stamp the large 2 flower bunch multiple times using Highland Heather ink facing outward from the center trying to off-set these a bit.
Next grab the 2 smaller flowers and your Rich Razzleberry ink and stamp one at the top and one (or more) on either side of the center group of flowers, filling in between them. Stamp this on the inside piece and your envelopes also. Using the same ink and the big, single flower fill in the center and at least one across the bottom. Also use the Rich Razzleberry ink for the centers of the flowers (notice there are 2 clumps of centers--I used the bigger one on the bigger roses and the smaller bunch on the smaller ones).
Now take your Daffodil Delight and the long sprig of flowers and fill in between the flowers and a couple across the bottom, and then fill in the leaves with Granny Apple Green and the 2 leaf stamps. Notice I stamped some leaves twice without re-inking (second generation stamping or "stamping off").
Once you are satisfied, cut the paper in half and then cut it down to 4 by 5 1/4", add a sentiment and attach the 2 stamped pieces to the Rich Razzleberry piece of cardstock and then to the Daffodil Delight card bases. Attach the smaller piece of Whisper White to the inside of the card.
Here's how they would look side by side as if they were just cut in half.
And here's the inside.
