Gingerbread Man & Woman

Aren't these gingerbread man and woman just so cute? They are from the new 2025 Sept-Dec Mini Catalog that goes live to everyone at midnight 9/3/25. I am sure they are going to be a big seller, so get yours quickly before they sell out (just my prediction). The stamp set has lots of different expressions for our little gingerbread person, and the dies have many different objects for them to hold, but the cutest part of the bundle is that the die cuts 2 gingerbread men that you fold in half to make a card that can open.

This set is called Gingerbread Man, but I just had to see if I could make a gingerbread woman as he seemed to need a girlfriend. I don't know if you can tell, but her skirt is made from one of the Coneflower Celebrations dies cut from both Real Red and Garden Green cardstock. I'm sure whomever thought up those dies never thought they'd be used like this.

Let's make this card! Gather your supplies:

1. Thick Basic White cardstock--card base is 4 1/4" by 5 1/2"
2. Basic White cardstock--cut 1 gingerbread man, the solid candy cane and the pom pom on the hat
3. Garden Green cardstock--2" by 4 3/4", second piece die cut from the Coneflower Celebrations die, skirt band is 1/4" by about 3" (then cut down)
4. Real Red cardstock--cut the hat, scarf and candy cane, die cut from the Coneflower Celebrations die
5. Pecan Pie cardstock--cut the 2 gingerbread men
6. Christmas Tags & More 6" x 6" Mix & Match Specialty DSP--piece 3" by 5 1/4"
7. Stamp Set--Gingerbread Man, Words for the Season
8. Dies--Gingerbread Man, Coneflower Celebrations
9. Ink--Garden Green
10. Real Red & White Adhesive -Backed Peppermints
11. Embossing Supplies--embossing buddy, Versamark, White Embossing Powder and Heat Gun
12. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick Tool,  Piercing Mat or Glass Mat Studio, Regular Dimensionals

Here's a closer look at the two cards. I made the gingerbread woman on my Facebook live that is linked down below, which is great to watch for tips and tricks on using this set.

Start by attaching the Garden Green 2" piece to the left side of the Thick Basic White card base and then attach the Christmas Tags & More 6" x 6" Mix & Match Specialty DSP piece on top of it.

Put the 2 pieces of the candy cane together. For the hat, cut just the pom pom out of white (you may have to trim it down a bit) and attach to the top of the hat.

Stamp the gingerbread person outline (with your face feature of choice on the same block) in Versamark after using your Embossing Buddy to wipe down the front of the Pecan Pie cut out. Sprinkle on the white embossing powder, flick off the excess then heat with your Heat Tool until melted.

Attach the hat and scarf (if you are doing the man). Attach the 2 pieces of the skirt together if you are making the woman, then attach the 1/4" strip of Garden Green to the top. Cut off the sides even with her waist area, then attach to the gingerbread lady.

For the inside of the card, I cut the 2 Basic White gingerbread pieces in half. As I didn't like that some of the white was showing when I closed the card, I cut off a very thin later around the outside of the Basic White until it no longer showed when in place. Stamp the sentiment from Words for the Season on the inside of the card then attach to the inside of the Pecan Pie pieces.

Attach the whole gingerbread man or woman to the card using Dimensionals. Attach the candy cane to one of the hands, making sure it doesn't get in the way of opening the card. Use 2 of the smallest peppermints as their buttons down the front and you are done!

Below is my Facebook Live from 9/1/25 (uploaded to YouTube as Facebook now deletes them after 30 days) where I make this card, and show you some tips to help with the cardmaking.
