Pansy Petals Suite from the new Stampin' Up Annual Catalog

Pansy Petals Suite

Greetings from sunny and hot San Diego! We are going up to 85 degrees today and that's just too hot for April. Somehow we've skipped from spring right into summer. But that's ok, because today I am showcasing the Pansy Petals Suite from the new Stampin' Up Annual Catalog which is bright and sunny. I used to pick pansies for a bouquet for my mom, until I found they don't last long as cut flowers--much better to enjoy them in the ground! I will also be using some other new products from the 2021-22 Annual Catalog that you will love.

I love pansies and all the beautiful colors they come in and this suite makes it easy and fun to play with them. The suite includes the Pansy Patch bundle which are a set of 21 dies as well as a stamp set with 23 stamps, both to make the flowers, and some wonderful sentiments with gorgeous fonts. The suite also includes Pansy Petals Designer Series paper--the cool thing about this paper is it has big and little flowers you can cut out with the dies (2 whole pieces that are just cutable pansies) as well as pages of leaves you can cut out too! And on the back side of 6 of the pages are 3 different new In Colors done in gingham. And to top it all off are the adorable bee trinkets seen above.

I made these 2 cards on my Facebook live today, April 19th, with lots of tips and tricks for using the dies and stamps. The link is below.

First gather your supplies:
Card #1
1. Soft Succulent card base cut 8 1/2 by 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" and folded
2. Whisper/Basic White 3 3/4 by 5" for the inside, a piece cut with the Scalloped Contour dies (the 3rd from the smallest, scraps for the flower.
3. Scraps of Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent, Fresh Freesia, Pale Papaya and Blackberry Bliss cardstock for the flowers and leaves
4. Pansy Patch stamp set (mostly this is for the second card) and Dies (bundle #155674)
5. Scalloped Contour Dies (#155560)
6. Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon (#155615)
7. 2021-22 In Color Jewels (#155571)
8. Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper (#155807)
9. Basic supplies--bone folder, Paper Snips, Dimensionals (regular and mini), adhesive (I'd say Multipurpose Liquid Glue for sure for this as well as Stampin' Seal Plus

Start by folding your card base in half and attaching the Whisper/Basic White inside piece. You could stamp a flower or leaves on it first if you'd like. Next cut a piece of the Fresh Freesia gingham Pansy Petal Designer Series Paper about 4 by 5 1/2" and run it through your cutting machine with the largest of the Scalloped Contours rectangles. Attach that to the front of your card.

Then use a piece of the Fresh Freesia Open Weave ribbon about 8 inches long and attach with some Stampin' Seal Plus.

Now it's time to put the pansy together. You will need to die cut:
From Fresh Freesia--2 of the large single petals and the inside of the bud
From Blackberry Bliss--2 of the edges for the large petals, the outside of the bud, the outline of the white/bottom piece and the larger beard
From White--the larger embossed bottom piece
From Soft Succulent--one large and one small bottom/embossed leaf pieces
From Evening Evergreen--one large and one small top/open leaf pieces and the back part of the bud
From Pale Papaya--the tiny center

To put it together attach the Blackberry Bliss edges to the Fresh Freesia and White petals. Attach the outline of Blackberry Bliss to the Fresh Freesia bud piece. Then glue the 2 larger petals together and glue that under the white piece--the Blackberry Bliss edges should meet as below. Using a mini Dimensional, attach the Pale Papaya center. Put Dimensionals on the back of this.

Glue the leaf pieces together and the bud to the back Evening Evergreen piece. Align everything up on the Whisper/Basic White piece that you cut from the 3rd largest Scalloped Contour die then glue down the bud and the leaves. Next attach the large pansy with Dimensionals. Attach this whole piece to the card using Dimensionals. Add 3 of the Papaya colored In Color Jewels and you are done. Gorgeous!!!

Now on to card #2.

Card #2 features just stamping, no die cuts. Please watch the video to best see how to stamp this card.

Supplies needed:
1. Whisper/Basic White card base cut 8 1/2 by 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" and folded
2. Whisper/Basic White cut 3 3/4 by 5" to stamp on
3. Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder
4. Pansy Patch stamp set
5. Light Soft Seafoam Blend
6. Bumblebee Trinkets (#155568)
7. Ink--Fresh Freesia, Rich Razzleberry, Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen, Daffodil Delight
8. Glue dot to attach the bee trinket

To stamp the large flower layers I used Fresh Freesia stamped off, Fresh Freesia and Rich Razzleberry inks.
To stamp the small flowers and the bud I used Fresh Freesia and Rich Razzleberry inks.
Next I used Daffodil Delight ink for the centers of all 3 pansies--make sure the pointy side of that dot points up.
I used Evening Evergreen to stamp the stems and that with Soft Succulent for the leaves. I then used the Light Soft Succulent Blend to put down a little ground.
Rich Razzleberry was used for the sentiment then that whole piece was embossed with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.
I attached a bee trinket with a glue dot.

Below you will find some other beautiful color combos to use to make your pansies. Have fun!

Here's a link to my Facebook Live that explains this suite even better than I can here, especially if you are a visual learner.
