Saying Goodbye to Dandelion Wishes

 Saying Goodbye to Dandelion Wishes

I always love and hate this time of  the Stampin' Up year. As demonstrators, we've gotten to pre-order from wonderful new products from the 2021-22 Annual Catalog. We have to say good-bye to some wonderful stamp sets as they retire, which always makes me a little sad. On the other hand, we get to say hello to some brand new products from Stampin' Up, which always makes me a little excited, like a kid in a candy shop kind of excited. So today I decided to mix some of the out-going products with the new ones. I will be show-casing some of the new 2021-23 In Colors as well as some new paper and ribbon.

Just remember if you join Stampin' Up now as a demonstrator, you can get your hands on these new items also and not have to wait until May 4th when everyone can order them. Just click on the "Join Now" Robin to the left. Here's a closer look at the card we are making.

Supplies you will need for these cards:
      1. Pale Papaya cardstock cut 8 1/2 by 5 1/2"  and score at 4 1/4"(available May 4th)
      2. Evening Evergreen cardstock cut 4 by 5 1/4" (available May 4th), and a smaller piece for the die cut.
      3. Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper cut 3 7/8 by 5 1/8" (available May 4th)
4.Whisper White/Basic White cut 5 by 3 3/4" for the inside, and a smaller piece for the die cut.
      5. Stamp sets--Dandelion Wishes (#145747), Etched in Nature (#155463, available May 4th)
      6. Ink--all new 2021-23 In Colors. Fresh Freesia, Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent and Pale Papaya
      7. Ladybug trinkets
      8. Stitched Nested Labels dies (used the largest one)
      9. Open Weave 3/8" ribbon in Soft Succulent
      10. For embossing--White Embossing powder, Versamark, Embossing Buddy, heat gun
11..Basic supplies-- bone folder, Dimensionals, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, glue dots, Blending Brushes.

Start by die cutting the largest Stitched Nested Label die in Whisper/Basic White and in Evening Evergreen. Emboss the large single dandelion using white embossing powder on the white die cut. Then using your blending brushes put some of the Papaya, Soft Succulent and Fresh Freesia randomly around. The embossed part should resist the ink, but if a little gets on it, just wipe it off with a soft cloth or a Kleenex afterwards. For more info, watch my Facebook Live at Stamp with Dr Robin that is attached below. Stamp the sentiment from Etched in Nature (coming May 4th) in Evening Evergreen ink on the bottom right. Using the stamp with the little floating dandelion parts, stamp in Evening Evergreen on the inside piece of Whisper/Basic White.

Next using the same die, cut the same using Evening Evergreen cardstock. Holding it in the landscape position, cut this piece in half in the center and then separate the two halves and attach to the back of the dandelion piece. Just a little bit (up to the stitched part) will show out of either side. Here's a close up of that.

Attach the Pansy Petal DSP to the Evening Evergreen piece then attach that to the folded Pale Papaya card base. Attach the inside piece too.

Zig zag a piece of the Soft Succulent Open Weave so that a little sticks out from behind where the die cuts will go. You can use double sided tape to tape it down or Stampin' Seal Plus. Attach the die cuts using Dimensionals. Attach a lady bug (or a new Bumblebee Trinket--you can see them in the top two pictures and on the video below).

Happy Stampin'!

  1. Lovely card. I like your colors and the new products. I would rather see what you are doing rather than just your host code. Most of the ribbon you showed was out of the picture. .
