Hand-Penned Suite meets Basic Borders

 Hand-Penned Suite meets Basic Borders

If you haven't seen the Hand-Penned suite yet, then you need to get your hands on a new 2021-22 Annual Catalog! Please message me if you don't have a demonstrator of your own who has given you a catalog.  Hand-Penned is a gorgeous, delicate suite that includes paper, a stamp set and die set as well as gems in the new Pale Papaya and Mint Macaron. I've been having fun coloring the images which you can do using Blender Pens and Blends as I did above and on my Facebook Live (see below) or with the stamps included in the set on the other card below.

These directions are for making the top card.

First gather your supplies:
1. Misty Moonlight card base cut 8 1/2 by 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" and folded
2. Whisper/Basic White cardstock cut 3 3/4 by 5" for the inside and a scrap for the flower
3. Whisper/Basic White cardstock cut with the 3rd largest Scalloped Contours Dies
4. Garden Green cardstock cut with the largest Stitched so Sweetly Dies
5. Hand-Penned DSP cut 3 by 5 1/2"  then cut with the Basic Borders Dies (I used the one on the bottom left in the picture of the dies on page 162 of the catalog)
6. Stitched so Sweetly Dies (#151690)
7. Scalloped Contours Dies (bundle #158356)
8. Hand-Penned bundle (#155492)
9. Basic Borders Dies (#155558)
10. Ink--Memento, Garden Green
11. Genial Gems (#155500)
12. Pale Papaya and White 1/2" ribbon (#155816)
13. Blends--Light and Dark Misty Moonlight and Pale Papaya
14. Basic supplies--bone folder, Dimensionals (regular), adhesive

Start by stamping the beautiful flower on a scrap of white cardstock. Either fussy cut the flower out like I did or cut it out with the dies. Color the flowers as seen below--I used the Misty Moonlight dark and like on the big flower and Pale Papaya for the small one. I used my Blender Pen and Garden Green ink to color the flowers and stem as there aren't Garden Green blends and I wanted to match the paper. Attach the flower to the white Scalloped Contours Die piece using Dimensionals. Attach the white to the Garden Green Stitched so Sweetly piece--isn't it great how the two different scalloped die sets work together? Now add 3 of the larger Pale Papaya Genial Gems as below.

As you can see in the next picture, you can also color the image with the stamps. Both look great!

Fold your Misty Moonlight card base in half and attach your 3 3/4 by 5" piece of white to the inside--you can even stamp a flower on the inside if you want to. Now take your Hand-Penned DSP cut 3 by 5 1/2"  then cut with the Basic Borders Dies (I used the one on the bottom left in the picture of the dies on page 162 of the catalog) and attach it to the front of the card with the flat side about 3/4" from the fold. Wrap the Pale Papaya ribbon around the front of the card and tie it in a knot on the front and cut the ends on a diagonal.

Attach the stamped piece to the front using Dimensionals and you are done!

If you are a visual learner, or just want more pointers on coloring, watch my Facebook Live below. Notice I forgot to add the gems at the end, but they are on the cards above. Shhh, don't tell anyone.
