A Hidden Fancy Fold with Beauty of the Earth DSP

I know I used the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series paper last week on a card, but every time I open the package a see another gorgeous piece of paper just calling out to be a card. And I seem to be using a lot of these "my thoughts are with you" type of cards--this sentiment came from the Prized Peony stamp set which I haven't used in a while, which is too bad as it has some beautiful sentiments with beautiful fonts. I figured this would work well for a guy card, and then I made it again below as more of a feminine card. My husband and son tell me guy cards can't have any bling (or ribbon for that matter) but the one below has some Champagne rhinestones on it and the paper behind the sentiment piece is the Rose Gold Glimmer paper (it's in the pack with Gold Glimmer paper). Of course, you can use whatever sentiment you want as this would be a nice birthday card too.

If you want to order any of these products from me, please click on the little Robin above left and that will take you to my Stampin' Up store. Please use the Host Code S6FKSDVN if you order in the next couple of weeks.

Did you know I also post my Facebook Live videos on my YouTube channel, which, coincidentally is also named Stamp with Dr. Robin? Hope over there some time and check it out.

Here's the inside of the card with the fancy fold that you can't really see from the outside. I'll walk you through making this card below.

First gather your supplies:
1. Misty Moonlight card base cut 8 1/2 by 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" and folded. A scrap for the outside frame
2. Basic White cut 3 3/4 by " for the inside, a scrap for the sentiment piece
3. Cinnamon Cider DSP cut 8 1/4 by 5 1/4" scored at 2 1/8 and 4 1/4"
4. Beauty of the Earth DSP (#155841) cut 4 by 5 1/4"
5. Prized Peony stamp set (#152504)
6. Forever Fern stamp set (#152559)
7. Layering Circles dies (#151770)
8. Ink--Mossy Meadow
9. Basic supplies--bone folder, adhesive (Multipurpose Glue)
If you want to make the more feminine version you will need a piece of the Rose Gold Metallic Specialty paper (page 135 in the Annual Catalog #156844) and some Champagne Rhinestones (#151193)

Start by folding your Misty Moonlight Card base in half. Then open it up and place the Beauty of the Earth DSP in place, but don't glue it down yet. Then take one of the Layering Circles (I used the 3rd largest one) and cut through both the DSP and the card base. Then take the DSP hole you just cut out, turn it over and use the next smallest scalloped circle (the one I used was the 4th largest) to cut this piece. Use the next smallest scalloped circle to cut the piece of Basic White for your sentiment.

Use a piece of scrap Misty Moonlight to cut the outside frame. Use the same smooth circle that you used for cutting the hole in the front of your card and nestle that inside a bigger scalloped circle (I used the second largest one).

Using Mossy Meadow ink, stamp the sentiment on the white scalloped piece--mine was from the Prized Peony set. Attach the sentiment piece to the scalloped piece of DSP. Using the same ink, on your inside white piece, stamp one of the ferns from Forever Fern set and then without re-inking stamp it again a little to the side.

Now put your card together. Attach the DSP to the front, lining up the holes. Attach the little Misty Moonlight frame to the outside of the hole. Now accordion-fold the Cinnamon Cider piece and attach that to the inside of the card. Attach your Basic White piece to that for you to write on. Now close up the card. Attach the sentiment by JUST PUTTING ADHESIVE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE SENTIMENT PIECE to the Cinnamon Cider piece (NOT the white piece you can also see through the hole) and you are done. Great job!

If this sounds confusing, please watch my video below. Don't mind the bloopers as, like all of us, I made some mistakes and had to start over.
