An Adorable Penguin Card

An Adorable Penguin Card

The penguins are coming! The penguins are coming! These adorable little penguins are from a  punch bundle called Penguin Place and are on page 33 of the new July-August Stampin' Up Mini Catalog that has recently been released for demonstrators to buy from, and will be released on August 3rd for customers. If you want to buy this now, please ask me about joining my team of Robin's Rowdies. Also starting that date is a second round of Sale-a-Bration where you can get free product, including the beautiful Designer Series Paper you see on this card. Just buy $50 from this new catalog or the Annual Catalog and choose your free product.

First gather your supplies:
1. Misty Moonlight card base cut 8 1/2 by 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" and folded.
2.  Whisper/Basic White cut 4 by 5 1/4" for the inside, a scrap for the penguin body, feet, presents and scarves. Also a piece cut 4 3/4" by at least 2 1/2"
3. Penguin Playmates DSP (#158420) FREE during August and September. The striped one is cut 4" by 5 1/4" and the dotted one is cut 3 1/2 by 4 3/4"
4. Black Glitter Paper (#153518)
5. Penguin Place stamp set and punch (#156789)
6. Wink of Stella (#141897)
7. Shimmery Crystal Effects (#150892)
8. Ink--Memento Tuxedo Black, Misty Moonlight, Calypso Coral, Fresh Freesia, Soft Succulent
9. Basic supplies--bone folder, adhesive (Multipurpose Glue is what I used), Regular and Mini Dimensionals, Piercing Mat

First punch out 3 bodies from the Black Glitter paper and 3 of the smaller, white center pieces. Now let's stamp. Stamp the 2 eyes (they are together on one stamp) in black, then the beak in Calypso Coral. Notice there are 2 beaks--use the one below for the punched penguin and the other one on the stamped penguin that is seen from the side.  Glue the white body to the glitter paper. Then stamp a row of 6 feet and punch them out. Put a mini Dimensional on each and attach to the bodies. Here's a close up of the penguin. He's much more glittery in person.

Next stamp a present and a scarf in each of these 3 colors on the white scrap--Misty Moonlight, Fresh Freesia and Soft Succulent--and fussy cut them out. Cover the presents in Wink of Stella and put them aside to dry. Also stamp some presents on the white inside piece of cardstock and then attach that to the inside of your card base like this:

Now take the Basic White piece cut 4 3/4" by at least 2 1/2". Using Misty Moonlight stamped off, stamp the long skinny "show drift piece" and without re-inking stamp a smaller piece of it below. Fussy cut off the part above the line. Stamp the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black. Then use your Shimmery Crystal Effects on top of the line to create some dimension to your snow drift. This will take a while to dry so set it aside for a while and go do something else.

Once the Shimmery Crystal Effects is dry, attach it to the smaller piece of DSP. Attach the larger piece of DSP to the card base and then the smaller, dotted one. Attach the penguins with Dimensionals then glue on the scarves and the presents--I glued down 2 presents then popped the 3rd one up on a Dimensional. Once everything is attached use your Wink of Stella on the scarves and maybe a little over or under the snow drift lines. Here's a close up.
