Sale-a-Brate with Delicate Dahlias

Sale-a-Brate with Delicate Dahlias

I don't know about you, but I like free things. And my favorite free things come from Stampin' Up during Sale-a-Bration time. And for the first time ever Stampin' Up is having a second 2 months of Sale-a-Bration (or SAB as we call it) from now through September 30, so I decided to use one of the free stamp sets on my card this week. This card features the Delicate Dahlia stamp set that is free with a $100 purchase. It's a great stamp set that features two step stamping with Distinctive stamps that give it a multi-layer look with just one stamp. Love it! If you are a visual person, you can also watch my Facebook Live below or over on my YouTube channel, which of course is also Stamp with Dr Robin.

First gather your supplies:
1. Flirty Flamingo cardstock cut 8 1/2 by 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" on the long side and folded in half. A second piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock cut 4 by 5 1/4"
2. Pattern Party DSP (# 155426) cut 2 by 5 1/4"
3. Basic White 3 3/4 by 5" for the inside and a scrap of Basic White for your dahlia and your sentiment piece
4. Vellum cut 4 by 3"
5. Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder (#155428)
6. Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack (#155465)
7. Gold Shimmer Ribbon (#156470)
8. Potted Succulent Dies (#154330)
9. Delicate Dahlias stamp set (#156601)
10. Gold Embossing Powder
11. Ink--Flirty Flamingo, Versamark
12. Basic supplies--bone folder, adhesive (Multipurpose Glue), Regular Dimensionals, Piercing Mat, Paper Snips, Heating Tool, Tear 'N Tape

Start by doing all your stamping with the Flirty Flamingo. Using the smaller flower (the filler one, not the outline) randomly stamp all over the 4 by 5 1/4" piece of Flirty cardstock. Also stamp this flower on the Basic White piece for the inside of your card, and your envelope.  Using the large dahlia filler flower, stamp on a piece of Basic White. Also stamp the sentiment on a scrap of Basic White and cut it out with the smaller sentiment piece in the Potted Succulent dies.

Now using Versamark, stamp the outline of the dahlia over your Flirty one, making sure to line up the second stamp with the first. To see how a tip on how to do this, watch my Facebook Live below. Cover with Gold Embossing Powder and flick off the excess. Heat until melted with your heat tool. Now fussy cut out your dahlia along the embossed lines. It should look like this below.

Emboss your piece of vellum with the Pretty Flowers embossing folder.

Now it's time to put your card together. Attach the stamped Flirty Flamingo piece to the front of your card--I used glue for this.  Then attach the piece of Pattern Party paper down the center. Use the Tear 'N Tape to attach a piece of Gold Shimmer ribbon (it's about 5") to the vellum. Attach the dahlia to the Velum with 2-3 Dimensionals. Attach the Vellum to the card with adhesive (I used glue) only under the dahlia so it doesn't show. Put some glue on the base of the little springs from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack and push them under the edges of the dahlia. Scatter 3 or 5 of the sequins from the same Ephemera Pack and you are done. Here's a close up of the pieces from the Ephemera Pack that I used.

Here's my Facebook Live that gives lots of tips on making this card. Enjoy!
