Feels Like Home with Cork Paper

I don't know about you, but I totally overlooked the Feels Like Home stamp set when I placed my first order from the Sale-a-Bration catalog. It wasn't until I saw others using this large stamp to make quick and easy, yet beautiful, cards that I decided to order it. The great thing about this stamp set is that you can leave it plain, color it a little, or color it a lot--your choice. For this card I just colored it a little using mostly my Blender Pens, which I hadn't used in a while. This would make a great Thank You card for letting me stay at your house, a Welcome to the Neighborhood card, or for someone who just bought a house. Of course, you could also use it for a birthday card, and it's gender neutral so you could give it to anyone. Let's get started making this card.

First gather your supplies:
1. Cinnamon Cider cardstock cut 8 1/2 by 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" on the long side and folded in half.
2. 2 pieces of Basic White cardstock cut 3 3/4 by 5" for the outside and the inside
3. Cork Specialty paper (#156393) cut a frame using the 1st and 3rd largest Stitched Rectangle die
4. Stamp set--Feels Like Home (#156607)
5. Dies--Stitched Rectangles (#151820)
6. Ink--Cinnamon Cider
7. 2020-22 In Color Square Gems (#155572)
8. Watercolor Pencils (either set #141709 or 149014)
9. Ribbon--I used retired 2020-22 ribbon on this card, but you could also color the Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon (#151326) with the Dark Cinnamon Cider Blend for a similar effect
10. Basic supplies--bone folder, adhesive (Multipurpose Glue), Glue Dots, Foam Adhesive Strips, Take Your Pick tool, Blender Pen. You will need some washi tape or painter's tape to help cut the frame

Start by cutting out the frame using the largest and the 3rd largest of the Stitched Rectangle dies and the cork specialty paper. Use washi or painter's tape to hold them in place as you run them through the die machine like this:

Be careful taking them out of the dies so as not to tear them. Using Cinnamon Cider ink, stamp the large picture on the Basic White paper, then cut it out with your 3rd largest Stitched Rectangle die. To color the picture I mostly used a Blender Pen to move the ink around for the brown. For the red, use either the Real Red or Cherry Cobbler  Watercolor Pencil, depending on which pencil set you have. Watch the video below if you want more hints on coloring.

Now fold your card base in half. Attach the cork frame using the Foam Adhesive strips--be sure to place them all around the frame. Then glue your stamped piece to the center of the frame on to the card base. I used retired 2020-22 ribbon on this card, but you could also color the Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon with the Dark Cinnamon Cider Blend for a similar effect as seen below. Attach your bow with a Glue Dot. Add a large and small 2020-22 In Color Square Gem.

For the inside, stamp the cute baby flowerpot in Cinnamon Cider ink on the second 5 by 3 3/4" piece of Basic White and attach to your card and you are done! If you love this set as much as I do, you can get it for free with a $50 purchase until the end of September so order quickly. Click on the red Robin in the upper left to go to my store.
