Gingerbread Slimline Card

I've just been having such fun playing with the Gingerbread & Peppermint suite that I wanted to share another card with you using it. The special thing about this card is that it is a slimline card! I'm not sure if you've ever made one of those, but they are a lot of fun, and the gingerbread cookies in this set really lend themselves to this type of card. Doesn't this card make you crave gingerbread cookies? I can smell them now.

I've seen slimline cards made all different sizes, but this one is 3 by 6" and really is this size because it fit into the cute little envelope I got off  Amazon. But some big news--I've seen the 2022 Jan-June Mini Catalog and we have our own slimline envelopes and dies in the new catalog! YAY! Those envelopes are 3 7/8 by 8 7/8" so we can make even larger cards.

Let's get going on making our card. First gather your supplies:
1. Real Red cardstock 6 by 6" and scored at 3"
2. Basic White for the inside 2 1/2 by 5 1/2", and a 2 1/2 by 3/4" scrap for the sentiment.
3. Granny Apple Green Cardstock cut 2 1/8 by 6"
4. Gingerbread & Peppermint DSP cut 2 by 6"
5. Scraps of Basic White and Cinnamon Cider for the cookies.
6. Stamp set--Frosted Gingerbread (#156314 or bundle #156807)
7. Die--Gingerbread (#156320 or bundle #156807)
8. Red Rhinestones  (#146924)
9. Checks & Dots Embossing Folder (#155432)
10. Ink--Granny Apple Green and Real Red
11. Basic supplies--bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (Multipurpose Glue), Regular Dimensionals, Die Cutting and Embossing Machine

Start by making your gingerbread cookies. Using your Gingerbread dies, cut the larger pieces of 3 of the cookies in Cinnamon Cider cardstock and the more detailed center pieces out of Basic White and glue them together. For tips on how I did that, watch my Facebook Live below.

Fold your card base in half along the score line then put just the front half of the card into the embossing folder, folding the back half around the back of the embossing folder and run it through your embossing machine. Attach the Gingerbread & Peppermint DSP to the Granny Apple Green piece and then attach it to the card front. Attach the cookies using Dimensionals--attach the outside 2 first then the center one to be able to easily space them. Here's a close up:

Using Granny Apple Green ink, stamp "happy holidays!" on the white scrap and attach it with Dimensionals also. Stamp some peppermint candies in Real Red for the inside and attach that. Stamp some on your envelope also. Add some Red Rhinestones to the front and you are ready to go. Here's a look at the inside of the card:
