Sparkly Peaceful Deer

Every year I have a holiday card buffet for people to come over and make as many holiday cards as they'd like from an assortment of 12-17 cards. And every year I like to do at least one card in an unexpected color and this year I really wanted to do a black card, so here it is. I know you can't see it, but the deer and the ribbon are quite sparkly. If you watch my Facebook Live below you can see it better. I think this card is just the one if you want to send an elegant card to someone.

This month is a great time to join my Robin's Rowdies team and then get 20% off all your Stampin' Up needs. The usual joining deal is $125 worth of product for $99 with free shipping. For the month of November you only pay $75 for $125 worth of products. And once you start, you don't have to do anything else with it, just enjoy your deal. Let me know if you are interested or just click the red robin to the left.

Let's get going on making our card. First gather your supplies:
1. Basic Black cardstock 8 1/2 by 11" and scored at 4 1/4"
2. Basic Black cardstock cut 4 by 5 1/4" and a scrap 3 1/2 by 3/4" for the sentiment
3. Basic White for the inside 3 3/4 by 5"
4. Peaceful Place DSP 3 by 5 1/4"
5. Vellum circle cut with the second to largest circle die
6. Black Glitter paper (#153518)
7. Stamp set--Snowman Season (#150458)
8. Punch--Deer Builder (#156390)
9. Dies-- Layering Circles (#151770)
10. Wonderful Snowflakes (#156340)
11. Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon (#147897)
12. Tasteful Textures 3D Embossing Folder (#152718)
13. Ink--Basic Black and Versamark
14. For embossing--embossing buddy, Silver Embossing Powder, heat tool
15. Basic supplies--bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (Multipurpose Glue and Mini Glue Dots), Regular Dimensionals or better yet, black ones, Die Cutting and Embossing Machine

Start by running your 4 by 5 1/4" piece of Basic Black through the embossing machine using the Tasteful Textures Embossing Folder.

Fold your card base in half. Using Basic Black ink, stamp your inside white piece with a sentiment and some of the snowflakes in the Snowman Season set--don't forget to stamp some on your envelope also! Attach this to the inside of your card. Attach the black embossed piece to the front of your card and center the DSP piece on that.

Now for embossing the sentiment. Take the small black piece, wipe with the embossing buddy and stamp the "Merry Christmas" with Versamark. Now liberally coat with silver embossing powder, shake/flick off the excess and watch the magic when you use your heat gun to melt it.

Punch a deer out of the Black Glitter paper. Attach the snowflake to the Vellum circle with just a little glue in the center. Attach the deer to that using Dimensionals (black ones if you have them). Attach the Vellum to your card using Glue Dots so they don't show. Here's a close up:

You will need about 16" of the Black Glittered ribbon to tie around the left side of the card. Attach your sentiment with Dimensionals (you may need to trim it a little). Now enjoy your creation!
