Blessings of Home

Before I start--this news just in. Stampin' Up is having a free shipping day!!! One day only on 12/8!! That's like getting 10% off everything!! This is on top of the discounts on the Clearance Rack or the Last Chance products. If you order through me (just click on the Robin to the left) and use my host code ASVPG6B6 and spend over $75,  I will send you a surprise (usually a package of embellishments)!! Don't use the host code if you spend over $150 as then the rewards (at least 10% of what you spent in free product) is yours.

If you were lucky enough to attend On Stage, our at-home Stampin' Up convention, then you could buy the Blessings of Home bundle early. I just love the large, floral images in this set as well as the fonts on the sentiments. The Designer Series Paper (DSP) has a lot of earthy colors like Cinnamon Cider and Misty Moonlight, but I chose to use the one with Fresh Freesia--isn't it beautiful paired with Pale Papaya?

Let's get going on making our card. First gather your supplies:
1. Basic White Thick cardstock cut 8 1/2 by 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" on the long side
2. Basic White cardstock to stamp you flowers and a 1/2" scrap for the sentiment
3. Fresh Freesia cardstock cut 5 by 3 3/4"
4. Heart and Home  DSP cut 2 by 5 1/2"
5. Stamp set--Blessings of Home (#157930 or 157939 for the bundle)
6. Dies--Flowers of Home (#157938 or bundle #157939)
7. Ink--Black Memento and Fresh Freesia
8. Ribbon--Pale Papaya 3/8" Open Weave (3155672)
9. Brushed Brass Butterflies (#158136)
10. Wink of Stella
11. Blends--Fresh Freesia, Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent both light and dark and Color Lifter
12. Basic supplies--bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (Multipurpose Glue and Mini Glue Dots), Regular Dimensionals, Die Cutting and Embossing Machine (mini or regular)

Start by folding your card base in half, attach the Fresh Freesia piece and then the Heart and Home DSP on the left side, leaving about 1/4" of the Fresh Freesia showing to the left of the DSP.

Now let's stamp. Using the biggest flower, stamp with Memento Ink (it is important to use this ink as we are going to use our Blends to color) on a piece of Basic White. Cut it out with its matching die. Stamp the sentiment on the 1/2" Basic White scrap. Use this flower or the smaller flower to stamp inside the card and the envelope using Fresh Freesia ink (sorry I forgot to do this on my video). Now color the flowers--bigger ones with Fresh Freesia and the smaller ones with Pale Papaya. Color the leaves with Soft Succulent. You can use the color lifter in the center or tips of the flowers for more depth. For coloring tips watch my Facebook Live below. Here's a close up so you can see my coloring:

Cut the flower out with the matching die and attach it to the card with Dimensionals--you will use lots. Attach the sentiment--I just used one Dimensional on the side and the rest was attached with glue. Tie a bow with the Pale Papaya and attach with a glue dot. Then add 3 of the new self-sticking Brass Butterflies. I also added some Wink of Stella to the petals--maybe you can see it below.

Here's my Facebook live from 12/6 if you want some help with the measurements or coloring. Note I forgot to use the Wink of Stella when I did the video. I'm live on Facebook at Stamp with Dr Robin every Monday at 1 pm PST.
