Sunshine & Rainbow Bay Window Card

I don't know about your weather, but here in San Diego it is overcast and gloomy and I think that is why this paper appealed to me today. I've been wanting to try this bay window fancy fold for a while, but had thought it looked difficult but I couldn't be more wrong. This paper is called Sunshine & Rainbows and is featured in the Sale-a-Bration catalog that starts January 4th 2022. The paper will be one of your FREE choices if you spend $50 in January or February. If you need a little pick me up, this is that paper for you--it will make beautiful spring cards and bring a smile to anyone's face. The paper reminds me of that Pharrell song "Happy" as each page is just so fun! The only way to get it now is to become a Demonstrator with Stampin' Up, so contact me if you want to join my team of Robin's Rowdies.

If you get lost in any of the directions, watch my Facebook live below at the end of this post.

Let's get going on making our card. First gather your supplies:
1. Magenta Madness cardstock cut 4 1/4 by 11" and scored at 3/8, 1 7/8, 3 5/8, 5 1/8 and 5 1/2" on the long side
2. Basic White cardstock 4 1/8 by 3 1/8" for the inside and a scrap for the sentiment and for behind the cloud
3. Sunshine & Rainbows DSP (#158126). See cutting directions below using 2 coordinating pieces
4. Stamp set--Friendly Hello (#158075) Another Sale-a-Bration item that comes with a 12 x 12" DSP packet, free with a $100 order
5. Dies--Hippo & Friends (#153585)
6. Ink--Magenta Madness
7. 2021-23 In Color Jewels (155571)
8. Cloud punch (#157749)
9. Basic supplies--bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (Multipurpose Glue), Regular Dimensionals, Die Cutting and Embossing Machine (mini or regular), Tear 'N Tape.

Start by scoring your Magenta Madness cardstock at 3/8, 1 7/8, 3 5/8, 5 1/8 and 5 1/2" on the long side. Burnish your fold lines. Fold the paper in half on the 5 1/2" score. Attach the front to the back using Tear 'N Tape close to the fold along that small piece between the center fold and the first score line 3/8" away. That score line should fold out, while the next 2 fold in to make the bay window.

Now cut your DSP--start with a piece 4 1/8 by 6" and cut it into 4 pieces that are in this order (and keep them in order) 1 3/8", 1 5/8", 1 3/8", 1 5/8". Cut 3 pieces of a coordinating piece of DSP 1/4 by 4 1/8".
Now attach the larger pieces of DSP--3 across the front and the 4th on the inside right. Attach the 1/4" strips along the right and left of the front and to the left of the other DSP on the inside as below. Attach the white inside piece. Leave a tiny strip of the Magenta Madness between each piece.

Using the DSP in the last picture above, either punch or fussy cut out one of the clouds as well as a piece of Basic White the same size and glue them together to reinforce the DSP. Attach the cloud as above to the inside using Dimensionals--you will have to angle it like I did above and don't place a Dimensionals too far to the left so that the front panel can hook behind it. Again watch the video if this doesn't make sense.

Using Magenta Madness ink, stamp a sentiment on the second to smallest Hippo & Friends die cut out of Basic White. Cut another piece from the same coordinating piece of DSP that you used for the 1/4" strips using the next largest die. Glue them together and attach to the front of the card making sure you don't put a Dimensional over the central fold lines. Add some jewels and you are done.

Let me know if you need any supplies. Enjoy!
