Tulip Fields Sneak Peak
The Tulip Fields bundle is on the cover of the upcoming Jan-June 2022 Stampin' Up mini catalog and as soon as I saw it I knew it would be on the top of my list to buy. And this stamp set and the whole Flowering Fields bundle does not disappoint! The Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper is to die for and wait until you see the Brushed Brass Butterflies--your heart will flutter. And the dies with the cute little bicycle are so much fun. I can see those little fences and the bikes making a statement on some other cards too.
Let's get going on making our card. First gather your supplies:
1. Mango Melody cardstock cut 8 1/2 by 5 1/2" scored on the long side at 4 1/4" and folded in half
2. Basic White cardstock 4 1/2 by 3 1/4" for the front and 5 by 3 3/4" for the inside
3. Evening Evergreen cardstock 3 3/8 by 4 5/8" and a scrap for the inside
4. Daffodil Delight cardstock scrap for the inside
5. Soft Suede cardstock for the windmill, bike and fences
6. Crumb Cake cardstock for the windmill
7. Flowering Fields DSP (#157670)
8. Stamp set--Tulip Fields (#157682 or bundle #157684)
9. Dies--Windmill Fields (#157683)
10. Ink-- Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, Balmy Blue, and Evening Evergreen
11. Brushed Brass Butterflies (#158136 or bundle #157684)
12. Dark Soft Suede Stampin' Blend
13. White Brad colored with the Stampin' Blend
14. Basic supplies--bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (Multipurpose Glue), Regular Dimensionals, Die Cutting and Embossing Machine (mini or regular), Silicone Mat, small piece of sponge, Water Painters.
Start by using the big/long field of flowers stamp and Mango Melody to stamp across a bit higher than center across the smaller Basic White page. Then use the triangle shaped field of flowers and Daffodil Delight, then So Saffron to stamp on both sides under the Mango Melody flowers--make sure to leave a bit of white cardstock showing between them. Then use Mango Melody again to stamp the center field. Make sure you wash off your stamp in between changing colors. To get hints on using this stamp, please watch my Facebook Live below. See the close up below to see how I left some white space in between each field.
Use a Water Painter to make a wash of Balmy Blue for the sky. Let this dry for a bit.
Using the Windmill Fields dies cut both parts of the windmill our of Crumb Cake and Soft Suede for the windmill blades. Glue the 2 windmill pieces together. Poke a hole in the windmill base (you will see where when you cut it out) and attach the blades with a brad that I colored with the Dark Soft Suede blend. The windmill blades can really move! Here's a close up:
Time to put it all together--fold your card base in half. Attach you gorgeous DSP. Attach the stamped page to the Evening Evergreen cardstock then attach that to the card. Use glue (easiest to use a glob on your silicone mat and apply with a piece of sponge) to attach the bike to the lower right corner and 2 of the long fences cut out of Soft Suede. Attach the windmill with Dimensionals--be careful where you attach it so that the blades don't go outside the card base so you can still mail it. Attach a Brushed Brass Butterfly in the sky.
For the inside, attach a row of tulips cut from Daffodil Delight and another from Evening Evergreen cardstock to the bottom of the Basic White piece. Cut off what is hanging over and then glue it to the inside as below. You could also stamp a sentiment here.
Here's another alternative I did using the little windmill stamp instead of the dies.
