Amazing Silhouettes plus Simply Marbelous 


It's a most wonderful time of the Stampin' Up year--a new Jan-June Mini Catalog AND Sale a Bration time where you can earn free product when you shop. This card uses 2 free Sale a Bration items--the Simply Marbelous paper AND the Special Moments stamp set along with a beautiful Distinctive stamp set from the Jan-June Mini Catalog. If you've never bought a Distinctive stamp set you are in for a beautiful surprise--the one stamp does all this lovely shading for you. This is such a simple card but it makes a beautiful statement. You can see below that I made a bunch of them as I was needing some more sympathy cards as well as more masculine birthday cards. Of course the ladies in your lives will love these cards too.

Let's make a card. First gather your supplies:

1. Bermuda Bay cardstock cut 11 by 4 1/4" scored on the long side at 5 1/2" and folded in half
2. Basic White cardstock 5 by 3 3/4" for the inside, 5 by 2 3/4" for the outside, and a scrap for the sentiment
3. Simply Marbelous (#158128) 4 by 5 1/4" FREE FROM SALE-A-BRATION
4. Stamp set- Amazing Silhouettes (#157814) and Special Moments (#158081)  FREE FROM SALE-A-BRATION
5. Dies--Stitched Rectangles (#151820). I used the second smallest of the skinnier dies
6. Ink-- Bermuda Bay
7.Stampin' Blends--Dark Bermuda Bay
8. 3/4" Frayed Ribbon (#158138)
9. Basic supplies--bone folder, Paper Snips, Piercing Mat, adhesive (Multipurpose Glue), Regular Dimensionals, Die Cutting and Embossing Machine (mini or regular), Tear 'N Tape

Fold your card base in half along the score line. Attach the Simply Marbelous piece to the front of the card.

Now to stamp--all using Bermuda Bay ink. Stamp the tree on the 2 3/4 by 5" piece, and the sentiment on the Stitched Rectangle. Also stamp the foliage piece on your envelope (see above in the first picture). Attach the tree to the bottom left of the card, leaving an even border. 

For the ribbon, use your Dark Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blend to put stripes on about a 4" piece of the 3/4" Frayed Ribbon. Pull the string at the end to fray the ends as you can see below. Watch my Facebook Live video below to see better how I did this. Attach the ribbon using Tear 'N Tape and then the sentiment with Dimensionals.

For the inside, attach a 1/2" strip of the Simply Marbelous paper to the side of the 3 3/4 by 5" piece of Basic White and then attach to the inside of the card.

  Floating Christmas Tree So if you make a lot of holiday cards like I do, it is time to start working on them! I know, I know, we haven't had Halloween yet, but if you want to send them out before the holiday it is time to get working. And this lovely card was inspired by someone else (sorry I just took a picture of it but there was no name on it so I can't thank you) who used her scraps to make the tree. I took it one step further and made a floating scraps tree. I've been wanting to make a card with this technique for a while and I knew this tree would look fabulous like this. And the second bonus is that I got to use up a ton of Lights Aglow scraps, even the small ones. All you need to do is cut your scraps into 1/2" pieces, attach them to a piece of window sheet and then cut out whatever shape you like. Something Fancy Before I get to making this card, I want to announce that I am selling Mystery Boxes of retired Stampin' Up product. One Horse Open Sleigh Card We have a lot of wonderful things starting 7/6/23 over on Stampin' Up. First up is everyone can now buy several new products that are On-Line Exclusives, including this lovely 6" by 6"  Designer Series Paper called One Horse Open Sleigh. It is made to go with a new horse and sleigh stamp set, but as you can see, it is beautiful on its own. It has lovely wintery scenes on one side and nice small images on the other side.
