Mask Magic

If you are like most people, you've missed the masks in both the Annual and the Jan-June Mini Catalogs. So turn to page 65 in the Jan-June Mini Catalog and you will see the new Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks hidden on the top right. They are really fun for layering them to make these flower cards and also good for backgrounds. Please watch my Facebook Live below to see how to use them.

Here's what you need to make this card.
1. Petal Pink cardstock 8 1/2 by 5 1/2" scored on the long side at 4 1/4" and folded in half
2. Basic White cardstock 5 by 3 3/4" for the inside and a piece cut with the second largest Stitched So Sweetly die
3. Pattern Party Designer Series Paper (#155426) cut 4 by 5 1/4" and a scrap 1/2 by 3
usps3/4"
4. Stamp Set--Flowing Flowers (#157880)
5. Dies--Stitched So Sweetly (#151690)
6. Ink-- Petal Pink, Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green
7.Cotton Ribbon Combo Pack (#158140) or Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon (#149441)
8. Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks (#158142)
9. Basic supplies--bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (Multipurpose Glue), Regular Dimensionals, Die Cutting and Embossing Machine (mini or regular), Blending Brushes

Start with the Basic White Stitched So Sweetly piece and your Petal Pink ink and the more open of the flower masks--use your Blending Brushes and fill in everywhere. Then use the other big flower mask and Poppy Parade ink. It helps to have a bunch of Post-It Notes to mask off the areas where you don't want the ink to go. Then use various leaf masks in Granny Apple Green--press hard (use more ink) for some and lighter for others. Please watch my Facebook Live below on how to use the masks.

Stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment from Flowing Flowers on a scrap of Petal Pink cardstock and fussy cut it out. Fold the cardstock base in half. Attach the stamped piece to the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper using Dimensionals. Tie the Petal Pink from the Cotton Ribbon Combo Pack around this part of the card and tie it, then attach the whole thing to the card base. Attach the sentiment with Dimensionals. Here's a close-up.

For the inside, attach the 1/2" piece of DSP to the 5 by 3 3/4" piece of Basic white and then attach to the inside like this:

Here's another one I did in purples and I used another mask for the background piece.

Here's the one I did on my Facebook Live that you can see below.
