Hats Off to You

Most of us have problems making guy cards and the Hats Off bundle solves that problem for you! It also makes really cute cards for you gal pals too--I showed off lots of other samples on my Facebook live (at Stamp with Dr Robin) which I've attached below and I'll post pictures of those other cards here on my blog tomorrow. I just couldn't stop cutting out hats from every color and DSP and then making them into cards. If you have a baseball fan in your life, try downloading their hat and attaching their logo to the front of the hat. For this card, I've paired it with the brand new Waves of the Ocean Designer Series Paper and if you look closely you can see the texture on the hat from the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.

First, gather your supplies to make this card.

1. Pacific Point cardstock 4 1/4 by 8 1/2" scored on the long side at 4 1/4"
2. Basic White cardstock 3 3/4 by 5" for the inside and another piece die cut with the Stitched Rectangle Dies (third longest of the skinnier, smaller dies)
3. Waves of the Ocean DSP (#159982) cut 3 by 5 1/4"
4. Basic Black cardstock cut 3 1/8 by 5 3/8"
5. Night of Navy cardstock to cut out the hats and a scrap cut with the Stitched Rectangle Dies (second  longest of the skinnier, smaller dies)
6. Stamp Sets-- Hats Off (#155483 or Bundle #158361), Flowing Flowers (#157880) for the happy birthday sentiment
7. Dies--Hats Builder (#155964 or Bundle #158361), Stitched Rectangles (#151820)
8. Ink-- Memento Black and Night of Navy
9. Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder (#152718)
10. Baker's Twine Essentials Pack (#155475)
11. Basic supplies--bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (Multipurpose Glue), Regular and Mini Dimensionals, Die Cutting and Embossing Machine

Fold your Pacific Point cardstock in half. Attach the Waves of the Ocean DSP to the Basic Black DSP and then wrap the black Baker's Twine around this paper twice and then attach to the back and attach to the card base.

Using your Memento Black ink, stamp the large hat on a piece of Night of Navy cardstock then cut it out with the matching die (watch my Facebook Live below with some hints on how to line it up). Also cut out one of the small hats from Night of Navy cardstock at the same time. Then take your cut out hat and run it through the machine inside the Tasteful Textile embossing folder.

Using Night of Navy ink, stamp Happy Birthday from the Flowing Flowers stamp set onto the Basic White Stitched Rectangle. Attach that to the Night of Navy Stitched Rectangle. Stamp the "Life is Great" from the Hats off set and cut it out with the 2 matching dies (one embosses the stitching and one cuts it out). Attach this to the hat. I attached the hat this way--2 regular Dimensionals and one baby one to the brim of the hat and glue the rest of the hat to the card. This gives the hat a little 3D dimension as you can see below. Attach the sentiment with Dimensionals.

Attach the baby hat to the inside Basic White piece and add that to the inside of the card as below.
