Hues of Happiness

Hues of Happiness (on pages108-109) is my favorite suite from the new 2022-23 Annual Stampin' Up Catalog. I love the Designer Series Paper, the stamp set and the Glossy Dots. The DSP is vibrant, colorful and just plain gorgeous; the stamp set has beautiful images, sentiments and fonts and the dies not only cut out the flowers but also has the cool background die featured on this card. Did you notice that the die doesn't cut out all the leaves? Some are left attached and you can fluff them up so it is more 3D. I plan on using this card as a wedding card next month, but you could also use it as a birthday card or just to make someone smile.

For more tips and tricks on using this set, as well as a couple of other cards I made with this set, please watch my Facebook Live below. It also contains information about my Paper Share--only $38 gets you a 1/4 pack of 10 new DSPs and 5 FREE Tea Boutique cards and envelopes. Email me at stampwithdrrobin@gmail.com if you'd like to participate.

Now, let's make this card. Collect the pieces:

1.Basic White Thick cardstock 5 1/2 by 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"
2. Basic White cardstock 4 by 5 1/4 " and a scrap to make the flowers
3. Stamp Set-- Happiness Abounds (#159238 or 158824 for the bundle)
4. Dies--Blossoming Happiness (#158823 or 158824 for the bundle)
5. Ink-- Versamark, Gorgeous Grape, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo
6. Glossy Dots Assortment (#158827)
7. For embossing--Embossing Buddy (retired), White embossing powder, heat tool
8. Basic supplies--bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Stampin' Seal Plus), Die Cutting and Embossing Machine, Dimensionals, Piercing Mat, Blending Brushes

Start by running the 4 by 5 1/4" piece of Basic White cardstock through your die cutting machine using the large background die, about 1/2-3/4" below the long edge.

Now let's stamp. After wiping your scrap of Basic White cardstock with your Embossing Buddy, in Versamark, stamp one of each of the larger flowers. Cover them with White Embossing Powder and flick off the excess. Heat set until the powder turns shiny. Using your Blending Brushes start from the inside of the flowers and color them with the 3 different colors. Please watch the video if you aren't comfortable with coloring with the Blending Brushes. Using your dies, cut out the 3 flowers.

Stamp a sentiment in the right lower corner of your 5 1/4 by 4" piece of Basic White using Gorgeous Grape ink. I also stamped a flower on the inside and on the envelope using the Melon Mambo ink. Attach the white piece to the card base using Dimensionals (a lot of them!). Attach the 2 smaller flowers using Multipurpose Glue and the larger one using Dimensionals. Scatter 3 of the Glossy Dots and you are done. Here's another close up:
