He's The Man

Father's Day is right around the corner, and we all want to honor the fathers in our lives, whether that is your own father, stepfather, relatives who are fathers, or those in your life who are a father figure for you or your family. Let's do this right and send them a nice card!

First, gather your supplies.

1. Early Espresso cardstock 4 1/4 by 11" scored on the long side at 5 1/2"
2. For the inside--use either the lined piece punched from the He's the Man Designer Series paper, or a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock cut 3 1/2 by 4"
3. Sarah Sand cardstock--cut the sentiment piece and the double flagged piece
4. He's the Man DSP (#159068) the car one cut 4 by 4 3/4" and the inside one cut 1 1/2 by 4"
5. Stamp Set--He's All That (#159071 or #159079 as a bundle)
6. Dies-- All That Dies (#159078 or  #159079 as a bundle) and Basic Border dies (#155558)
7. Faux Suede Trim (#152472)
8. Ink--Early Espresso
9. Basic supplies--bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue), Regular Dimensionals, Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine, Tear 'N Tape

Start by using the pointed die from the Basic Borders Dies to cut both the cardstock and DSP at the same time. Please watch the video below from my Facebook Live (at Stamp with Dr Robin every Monday at 1 pm) as this is the only tricky part of making this card. Fold your Card base in half along the fold then open it up. Lay the top of your car DSP just a bit under 1/2" (2 boxes on the grip paper) from the fold. Make sure it is centered side to side. Using a pencil, make a tick mark at the center (2" from the side) along the bottom and 1" up the side from the bottom. This is how you will line up the die. Hold it in place with a piece of washi tape and run it through your Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine. Once cut, slide the He's the Man car DSP up so that it's about 1/4" from the top and bottom and attach with glue.

Stamp your sentiment on the die using Early Espresso ink. I just love this die and plan to use it on lots of cards this year! Attach the 2 flagged pieces to the card, making sure they are straight and even. Use Tear 'N Tape to attach a 3 1/2 piece (approximately) of Faux Suede Trim to center of these. Attach the sentiment piece using Dimensionals.

Now for the inside--attach the smaller piece of DSP at the bottom of the inside and the Very Vanilla or die cut piece at the top like this:

You can stamp something on the inside, or leave it blank to write on. And you are done.
Watch my video below if you want more help cutting with the Basic Borders die.
In the video I used a different stamp set from the He's All That stamp set.
