Kindest Gnome Double Easel Card
I am having so much fun playing with the Kindest Gnome bundle and the rest of the Storybook Gnomes Suite. In fact, I've decided to base my class next month (August 14th if you are in San Diego, or by mail) on this suite. The gnomes can be cut out of the Storybook Gnomes Designer Series Paper, or stamped and colored, or made using just the dies--it's a 3 in one gnome party! And even better, many of the papers from the Rings of Love DSP from Sale-a-Bration go with this set perfectly. Better order soon as the Rings of Love is free with any $50 purchase but only while supplies last and they've already sold out of one of the Sale-a-Bration freebies (the Pool Party and Soft Seafoam cards and envelopes)!
If you get lost making this card, please watch my Facebook Live below. I am live every Monday at 1 pm PST--see you next week.
Let's get going making this fun card. First, gather your supplies.
1. Thick Basic White cardstock, cut 4 1/4 by 11" scored at 5 1/2", small scrap for stamping the gnome
2. Soft Suede cardstock cut 4 by 10 1/4" scored at 5 and 2 1/2"
3. Storybook Gnomes DSP (#159615)
4. Rings of Love DSP (FREE #159939) cut the trees piece 3 3/4 by 5" and 3 3/4 by 2 1/4"
5. Scraps of Pear Pizzaz (for the grass) and Poppy Parade (for the sentiment)
6. Stamp Set--Kindest Gnome (#159616 or bundle #159626), Charming Sentiments (#159985)
7. Dies--Gnomes Dies (#159625 or bundle #159626)
8. Ink--Soft Suede
9. Blending Pens in Lt and Dark Soft Suede, Lt and Dark Pool Party or Balmy Blue, Lt and Dark Poppy Parade, Dark Petal Pink
10. Basic supplies--bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue), Regular and Mini Dimensionals, Die Cutting and Embossing Machine
Start by folding your Basic White card base in half along the score lines. Fold the Soft Suede cardstock on the (almost) middle line. Now turn the Soft Suede folded cardstock upside down and fold backwards along the 2 1/2" score line. Attach the Soft Suede to the white card base like this (seems upside down). Attach the larger piece of Rings of Love DSP to the card front and the smaller piece to the folded back piece. It should look like this:
Die cut a mushroom from the Storybook Gnomes DSP. Die cut 2 clumps of grass from Pear Pizzaz. Attach to the small, folded down part on the front using Dimensionals. Now let's stamp and color the gnome--stamp him in Soft Suede ink on a scrap of Regular or Thick Basic White. Color using Blends--his hat and gloves in Light and Dark Balmy Blue, his nose in Dark Petal Pink, his clothing in Light and Dark Poppy Parade, his shoes in Light Soft Suede and the lamp in Dark Soft Suede. Cut him out with the dies and attach with Dimensionals.
Stamp the sentiment (from Charming Sentiments) on a scrap of Poppy Parade using the Soft Suede ink. Fussy cut it out like I did or use the matching dies. Attach as above with some Dimensionals. Stamp the other sentiment inside as well as a gnome peaking out. I also cut a little bird from the Storybook Gnomes DSP and attached it to the front using a Dimensional.
