Warm Welcome

The Warm Welcome bundle is a sneak peak from the Jan-June Mini Catalog, but you can buy it now as we will be using it on World Cardmaking Day on October 1st from 1-4 pm (PST). This event is a free on-line event sponsored by Stampin' Up. Please register it by going to this web site:  https://forms.monday.com/forms/a6e8a082e77e7f95b21439e18a0b04e5?r=use1

We will also be using the Cottage Rose and Cottage Wreath sets, but you can use whatever sets you'd like if you don't have these. And right now if you order any of these bundles you get a set of Iridescent Pearls for free. And I love free! This set is so cute as you can make the door open into an outside or inside scene, or just stamp something inside the door. And it is so fun to decorate the scene around the door too. The stamp set comes with loads of cute sentiments that fit into 2 sentiment dies, or the small rectangle die you can use as a doormat too.

Let's make this card. First, gather your supplies.

1. Petal Pink--Card base 5 1/2 by 8 1/2" scored on the long side at 4 1/4" and folded in half along the score line.
2. Design a Daydream Designer Series Paper (#159161) cut 4 1/4 by 4 1/4"
3. Basic White Cardstock for the inside 3 3/4 by 5", a piece 1 5/8 by 3 1/4" and a scrap for the cat and vase with flowers
4. Crumb Cake 4 1/4 by 5 1/2"for the door and sentiment
5. Soft Suede 4 1/4 by 1 1/2" for the floor
6. Stamp Set--Warm Welcome l(#160698 or #160704 bundle), Garden Birdhouses #155090
7. Dies--Warm Welcome Dies (#160703 or #160704 bundle)
8. Embossing Folder--Timber 3D (#156406)
8. Ink--Early Espresso, Memento Black, Old Olive, Pool Party, Mossy Meadow
9. Blends--Dark Daffodil Delight, Dark Blackberry Bliss, Light Old Olive, Dark Pool Party, Light Smokey Slate, Dark Petal Pink
10. Classic Matte Dots (#158146)
11. Basic supplies--bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue), Mini and Regular Dimensionals, Die Cutting and Embossing Machine, Blending Brushes

Start by stamping the door in Early Espresso on to the piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and then cut it out with the dies--you can cut the outside and the inside at the same time. Use the same ink to stamp the sentiment on the larger of the sentiment dies in the Warm Welcome Dies.

Now color the bottom half of the 1 5/8 by 3 1/4" piece of Basic White using a Blender Brush and Old Olive ink. Color the top half with a Blender Brush and Pool Party ink. Using Mossy Meadow ink and the stamps from Garden Birdhouses, stamp the flower and some grass. I colored the flower with the Dark Blackberry Bliss Blend. Attach this piece to the back of the door with glue and put it aside.

Stamp the cat and the flowers with the arm in Memento Black and cut them out with the dies. Now cut off the arm and hand and you just have a vase with flowers (thank you to Patty Bennett  for that idea). Color the cat with the Light Smokey Slate Blend and some Petal Pink for a tongue and in his ears if you'd like. I left his face and paws white. Color the vase Pool Party and the flowers Blackberry Bliss and Daffodil Delight and the leaves Old Olive with your Blends.

Fold your card base in half along the score line and burnish with your bone folder. Glue the Design a Daydream DSP to the top of the card. Run the piece of Soft Suede through the Embossing Machine in the Timber 3D embossing folder, and then use your Blending Brushes or Sponge Daubers to add small amounts of Early Espresso Ink to the raised areas. Attach this piece to the bottom of your card, overlapping the top DSP a bit.

Add your door with the outside scene. Put a Classic Matte Dot on the circle for the door knob. Pop the cat and vase of flowers up on Dimensionals and add to the card. Glue the sentiment to the bottom and you are done!
