Cards That Show Off Both Sides of Your DSP

Stampin' Up has some of the most beautiful paper in the world. Sometimes I don't want to use it because I can only let one side of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) show on my cards at a time. But this card, and the one I will upload tomorrow, show off BOTH sides of the Fitting Florets DSP that is on sale to customers starting tomorrow 11/1/22. The Fitting Florets stamp set and dies will be in the next mini catalog so this is a early release, but the DSP, as well as the Gold Adhesive-Backed Swirl embellishments and the coordinating Christmas stamp set, Framed and Festive, are only while supplies last, so don't wait to order. I plan to order another package of this DSP as soon as I can tomorrow.

If you are a visual learner, you might want to watch my Facebook Live linked below, or watch on my YouTube channel, Stamp with Dr Robin.

Let's make a card! Gather your supplies:
1. Balmy Blue cardstock--Card base is 4 1/4 by 5 1/2".  Cut another piece using the smallest Floret oval and use the outside oval only. Die cut the largest oval frame also, and only use the center of that one (you will use the outside in tomorrow's card)
2. Polished Pink cardstock--Die cut the largest Floret oval and use only the outside frame
4. Basic White cardstock--Die cut the smallest Floret oval x2 and use just the centers
3.Fitting Florets DSP (#161814)--5 1/4 by 11 3/4", scored at 1 3/4, 4 3/4 and 7 3/4". And fussy cut or die cut one of the groups of flowers on the other page.
4. Stamp Set--Framed Florets (#161815 or bundle #162407)
5. Dies--Framed Florets (#160623 or #162407 if in the bundle)
6. Ink--Polished Pink
7. 2021-23 In Color Opal Rounds (#159185)
8. Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon (#155714)
9. Basic supplies--bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue), Mini and Regular Dimensionals, Piercing Mat, Die Cutting and Embossing Machine, Take Your Pick Tool, Silicone mat and a piece of sponge or Sponge Dauber

Start by accordian folding the long piece of DSP--you can start from either end. Sometimes it is easier to fold the big one first, so you can make sure the outside edges lay smooth and flat. Fold as below and attach it to the Balmy Blue card base.

Now let's stamp. Using Polished Pink ink, stamp the 2 sentiments below on the 2 small ovals. To make the front oval, use the larger of the 2 Balmy Blue ovals as a base and attach the frame to it first, then attach the Basic White oval to the inside of the frame. If this doesn't make sense to you, please watch my video. Attach the flowers cut from another piece of DSP--the Floret dies cut out this group of flowers or you can fussy-cut a different group.

Attach the Polished Pink frame below left to the back piece first. I put some glue on my Silicone mat and used a piece of sponge (or you can use a Sponge Dauber dedicated to the glue) to apply some glue to attach it. You could also use the double sided Adhesive Sheets also--you attach them before die cutting and it makes it much easier to glue down intricate dies. Too bad I forgot to use them today!

After you attach the Polished Pink frame, attach the oval inside. Then put 3 Dimensionals on the back left side only of the Balmy Blue framed oval and attach that to the 1" scored/front piece. Just make sure not to let any Dimensionals hang over the middle or you won't be able to open the card. Nest the blue oval inside the back Polished Pink one. Tie some Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon around just the front piece of DSP.

I used one large and one small Polished Pink 2021-23 In Color Opal Round on the front sentiment piece to finish it off.
