Warm Welcome to Cottage Wreaths

Hopefully most of you know that Saturday October 1st was World Card Making Day (WCMD) and that Stampin' Up was having a free on-line card making event. If you missed it, you can still watch it here:https://events.stampinup.com/worldcardmakingday/home. At the top of the event page you will see the card that inspired this card. I love the way they used the solid door die to create panels so that this whole card could become a door itself! It took me a bit to figure out how they made those panels, but I will let you in on the secret in this post. We used both the Cottage Wreaths and the Warm Welcome bundles during the WCMD event so I also liked that I could combine them into one card.

For WCMD I was also asked to be a presenter on a world-wide on-line event organized by The Crafty Medic. I was asked to share my Judaism and made a Rosh Hashanah card using the Apple Harvest stamp set. You can see everyone's videos and cards here: https://www.facebook.com/events/448727080041301. Click "discussion" if you don't see the individual posts. You can also see the video on my YouTube channel--Stamp with Dr Robin and while you are there please click the "subscribe" button. If you want the directions to all 30 of the cards, please buy the pdf as all of the sale goes to Make a Wish: https://www.craftymedic.ca/product/world-card-making-day-2022-give-back. You can see my card in a post tomorrow.

Let's get back to making this card. Gather your supplies.

1. Mint Macaron cardstock--Card base 5 1/2 by 8 1/2" scored on the long side at 4 1/4" and folded in half along the score line. 3 Scrap pieces at least 1 3/4" wide to cut out the panels
2. Basic White Cardstock for the inside 3 3/4 by 5", a piece for the wreath and a 1/2" scrap for the sentiment
3. Gold Foil--cut out the bow and the door handle using the Country Wreaths dies
4. Stamp Sets--Warm Welcome l(#160698 or #160704 bundle), Cottage Wreaths (#159652 or the bundle #159659)
5. Dies--Warm Welcome Dies (#160703 or #160704 bundle), Cottage Wreaths dies  (#160238 or the bundle #159659)
6. Ink--Versamark, Basic Gray, So Saffron and Pumpkin Pie
7. Red & Green Adhesive-Backed Pearls (#159963)
8. Basic supplies--bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue), Mini and Regular Dimensionals, Die Cutting and Embossing Machine

Start by making the 3 panels using Mint Macaron cardstock and the solid door from the Warm Welcome dies. Use the Versamark ink along all 4 sides of the die, then carefully place it on the cardstock and cut it out using your Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. Repeat 2 more times. See how I did it by watching my Facebook Live below or going to my YouTube channel (guess what? It is Stamp with Dr Robin also). Now add the 3 panels to your folded card base--glue the top one on first, then the other two you can make the sides even with the sides of the top/horizontal panel.

Now for some stamping. Use the branch wreath and Basic Gray ink first. Then use the other/leaf wreath stamp and stamp the So Saffron and the Pumpkin Pie--I stamped both off first for a softer look. Cut out the wreath with the dies and attach it to the card like below. Cut the detailed bow and the door handle out of Gold Foil and attach those also--I used 2 Mini Dimensionals to attach the bow and curled the part that hangs down a bit.

Use a 1/2" scrap of Basic White cardstock and stamp your sentiment in Basic Gray. Angle cut the sides and attach using a couple of Dimensionals.

Use 3 of the gold  Red & Green Adhesive-Backed Pearls on the wreath and another 2 on the door. Don't forget to stamp a wreath on the inside Basic White piece as well as your envelope.

Here's another view of the finished card.
