Mini Pocket Envelope Holiday

Card/Gift Card Holder

I really had fun today making these cards with the Sweetest Christmas Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Mini Pocket Envelope dies (see page 172 in the Annual Catalog). This makes a beautiful card but can also be used to hold money, a gift card or even a Ghiradelli chocolate square. Such a fun gift and a card in one! Of course, this card could be easily translated to a birthday card, or any other occasion.

Let's make these cards! I will call the card on the left card 1 and the card on the right card 2. Gather your supplies:
1. Thick Basic White cardstock for card 1 and Real Red cardstock for card 2--Card base 5 1/2 by 8 1/2" scored on the long side at 4 1/4" and folded in half along the score line.
2. Sweetest Christmas DSP (#159559)--cut a piece 4 by 5 1/4" and cut it in half on the diagonal from one corner to the other. This will allow you to make 2 cards with each triangle. Also use a different piece to die cut the Mini Pocket Envelope.
3. Festive Foils DSP (#159536) cut as above for card 1. If making this card, make sure that when you cut along the diagonal do both DSPs from top left to bottom right--in other words cut them the same as you can't turn the Festive Foils over and use the other side.
4. White Glimmer Paper (comes with Real Red also #159578)--die cut the 2 pieces of bow in the Mini Pocket Envelope dies
5. Basic White cardstock (card 2 only)--3 3/4 by 5" piece for the inside
6. Stamp Set--Brightest Glow (#159542)
7. Dies--Mini Pocket Envelope (#159167)
8. Ink--Garden Green
9. Red and Green Adhesive-Backed Pearls (#159963)
10. Wonderful Snowflakes (#156340)
11. Wink of Stella
12. Basic supplies--bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue), Die Cutting and Embossing Machine, Take Your Pick Tool, Tear 'N Tape

Using Garden Green ink, stamp a sentiment from Brightest Glow on the inside of the card base for Card 1 or on the inside Basic White piece for Card 2. If making Card 2, attach this to the inside of the card.

For Card 1, use a Red Festive Foil Triangle and a corresponding triangle of the Sweetest Christmas DSP and glue those to the folded Thick Basic White card base. For card 2 glue just the one triangle of Sweetest Christmas DSP to the Real Red card base.

Now make the Mini Pocket Envelope. Fold along the score lines. I liked using the Tear 'N Tape on the 2 tabs to glue it together--just note that the tape is a little bigger than the tabs on the mini envelope so if you want to use it for a gift card fold the tape back on to the tab so that the envelope doesn't stick together. Please watch my Facebook Live below to see how to make this envelope and the cards in general. And come watch every Monday at 1 pm PST on my Facebook Group Stamp with Dr Robin. Now back to cardmaking. For the bow, fold the two sided of the bow/loops back and use a Mini Glue Dot to each end to hold it down. The piece with the ends that hang down wraps around this--use a glue dot on the end and another after wrapping around. As this will leave the center part as non-glimmery (as it is the back of the glimmer paper), use your Wink of Stella on this after you adhere it to the mini envelope with another Mini Glue Dot.

To finish the card, use a Mini Glue Dot or Multipurpose Glue to attach a Wonderful Snowflake. then attach the Mini Pocket Envelope. Place 3 of the Red  Adhesive-Backed Pearls under the bow and you are done. Here's a close up of each card:
