Sneak Peak of By the Bay Suite

Before I start on this card, I want to remind you all that the Last Chance Sale featuring items from the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog starts this week on 12/1. This is a great sale with 20 items 60% off and others 20-50% off. If there is something you really want, order on 12/1 or even before as once they are sold out they are gone. There will also be a Clearance Rack Refresh on that day. Please let me know prior to 12/1 if you want me to order for you, or order yourself and use this host code please: :

Now on to card making--you all are going to love the upcoming By the Bay Suite in the 2023 Jan-April Mini Catalog! It includes some gorgeous paper with gold and pearl foiling--too bad it doesn't photograph well but it is truly beautiful. And the stamp set and dies even cut some birds, shells and crabs out tof the Designer Series Paper. If you get nothing else from this suite, definitely get the paper. I didn't even use 2 other items from this suite-- the pretty Balmy Blue and White ribbon that is soft and easy to tie, or the Flat Adhesive-Backed pearls that will mail much easier than most of our embellishements. I hope you enjoy this fun fold. And if you need more help, watch my Facebook Live attached below or on my YouTube channel (Stamp with Dr Robin).

Now on to making this card. Gather your supplies:
1. Mint Macaron cardstock--Card base 5 1/2 by 7 1/4"" scored on the long side at 4 1/4". Another piece 4 by 1 1/4" scored at 1"
2. Basic White cardstock--a piece  2 3/4 by 5 1/4" for the inside
3. Soft Suede cardstock--scrap to die cut one small and one large clam shell
4. Night of Navy cardstock--2 pieces 3 1/4" squares
5. By the Bay DSP (#160434)--front piece is 2 3/4 by 5 1/4", inside piece is 1 1/4 by 5 1/4" and the flap piece is a 3" square
6. Stamp Set--Seaside Bay (#160436 or bundle #160445)
7. Dies--Seaside Bay (#160444 or bundle #160445)
8. Ink--Soft Suede and Sahara Sand
9. Gilded Leafing (#154560, page 143 in the Annual Catalog)
10. Basic supplies--bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue), Dimensionals (Regular and Mini), Piercing Mat, Embossing/Cutting machine

Fold your Mint Macaron card base along the fold line. Then fold the small Mint Macaron piece along the 1" score line and attach the 1” part to the inside (larger) back piece of your card base in the middle of the long side. Fold it over to make sure the fold is flush with the outer edge of the card.

3.   Attach the 1 1/4" piece of the By the Bay DSP to the right inside of the card, leaving equal margins around the top/bottom/right side. Attach the 2 3/4" piece of DSP to the front of the card.

5.    Using Soft Suede ink, stamp the inside sentiment on the 2 3/4 by 5 1/4" piece of Basic White and stamp the sandy shell piece on the bottom of the same piece in Sahara Sand. Attach it to the inside of the card, flush on the right side with the DSP. Here's how the inside will look:

Now let’s make the flap. Attach 2 Night of Navy 3 ¼” squares to each other to the front and back of the Mint Macaron flap, making sure that they line up evenly from the sides of the card base and top and bottom. For the front of this flap use the 3" square of a seaside looking piece of the By the Bay DSP. Stamp the sand and shell stamp in Sahara Sand across the bottom. Use the stamp that is only dots/sand to stamp more sand around. Now attach the DSP square to the Night of Navy squares.

Cut a large bird out of one of the pieces of DSP and attach using large and small Dimensionals. Cut a large and small clam shell out of Sahara Sand DSP. Put a thin line of Multipurpose Glue on the top edge of both shells. Let it dry a bit until it is clear, then stick some Gilded Leafing to the edge and rub off the excess. If you don't know how to use this product, watch my video below. It's lots of fun and easy. Attach the 2 clams to the DSP square with Dimensionals.
