Greatest Journey
The Greatest Journey bundle is part of the Enjoy the Journey suite on pages 58-59 in the Jan-April Mini Catalog. This suite is perfect for people who love the outdoors as well as for making masculine cards. We used to take our children to Joshua Tree National Park every President's Day week to camp and hike, and this suite makes me think of those wonderful trips. For this card I used the silhouette of the mountain bike rider out of glimmer paper--there is also a silhouette of a backpacker and a runner and a tent. Come back tomorrow and see more cards I made with this suite.
Let's make this card! Gather your supplies:
1. Starry Sky cardstock--Card base 4 1/4 by 11" scored on the long side at 5 1/2" and folded in along the score line.
2. Basic White cardstock 3 3/4 by 5" for the inside
3. Enjoy the Journey DSP--4 by 5 1/4"
4. Basic Black cardstock--approximately 2 by 4 1/4"
5. 2022-24 In Color 6 by 6" Glimmer Paper
6. Stamp Set--Greatest Journey (#160588 for the stamp set or #160594 for the bundle)
7. Dies--Greatest Journey (#160593 or #160594 in the bundle)
8. Ink--Orchid Oasis, Whisper White, Memento Black
9. Basic supplies--bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue), Regular and Mini Dimensionals, Die Cutting and Embossing Machine, Paper Trimmer, Piercing Mat, Aqua Painter
Fold your card base in half. Die cut the mountain bike rider out of the Starry Sky Glimmer paper.
Use the long squiggly die and your Basic Black card stock to cut a mountain--you can make it as big or small as you'd like. Get a bit of the Whisper White ink either in the case or on a block. Add some water with the Aqua Painter and then, without squeezing it, just hit it against your finger or a pencil splattering some white on the black mountain. Set this aside to dry.
Using Memento Black ink, stamp the sentiment directly on to the DSP. If you make a mistake, just stamp it again on to Basic White and cut it out with a die or fussy cut it and place it over your boo-boo.
Attach the DSP to the front of the card, then attach the black mountain. Note that I made it to go the full 4 1/4" and made it go down to the bottom of the card--I liked it with no border on the bottom. Attach the mountain bike using Regular and Mini Dimensionals. I like that the person is doing a wheely!
For the inside, stamp the trees in Orchid Oasis on to the Basic White cardstock and stamp them again without re-inking. This is called second generation stamping. Attach this to the inside of your card.
