Seaside Bay Pearl Card

Please don't go telling the other bundles, but Seaside Bay (and the whole By the Bay Suite) on page 22-23 is my favorite bundle in the Jan-April Mini Catalog. I love, love, love the paper that has either gold foil or shiny areas on one side (like the little piece on the right) and lovely shells or backgrounds on the other side. You can even cut out birds and shells from the paper with the dies. And everything in the suite plays well with the Sea Turtle stamp set on page 29 as well as Friends are Like Seashells set from the Annual Catalog. And the Flat Pearls are shiny and will be easy to mail. Here's another picture of my card with the seashell closed--isn't that the cutest die???

Let's make this card! Gather your supplies:
1. Basic White Thick cardstock--Card base 5 1/2 by 8 1/2" scored on the long side at  4 1/4" and folded along the score line.
2. Pool Party cardstock--3 pieces, 1 piece cut 3 1/8 by 5 3/8" and a second cut 1 by 5 3/8", and the 3rd die cut with the 3rd smallest Stylish Shapes circle
3. Petal Pink cardstock--die cut the shell
4. By the Bay DSP  (#160434)--2 pieces, 1 cut 3 by 5 1/4" and a second cut 7/8 by 5 1/4"
5. Stamp Set--Seaside Bay (#160436 or 160445 for the bundle)
6. Dies--Seaside Bay (#16044 or 160445 for the bundle)  and Stylish Shapes (#159183)
7. Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearls (#160449)
8. Pool Party Sheer Ribbon (#152462)
9. Ink--Pool Party
10. Wink of Stella
11. Basic supplies--bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue),  Regular Dimensionals, Die Cutting and Embossing Machine, Paper Trimmer

Start by cutting 1" off the right front of your card base. Glue the 2 pieces of DSP to their corresponding (1/8" larger) Pool Party cardstock then glue the larger one to the front of the card and the smaller one to the inside right of the card, leaving a small margin of white showing around the edges.

Stamp the sentiment inside the shell using Pool Party ink--be sure to stamp it slightly to one side to leave room for the pearl. Fold the shell--notice there are 2 fold lines to give it some shape. Glue this to the Pool Party Circle. Make a very large bow with the Pool Party Sheer Ribbon and adhere that to the card (I used Stampin' Seal Plus but you could also use Tear 'N Tape or some Glue Dots). Then attach the circle using some Dimensionals.

Add Wink of Stella to the front of the shell--be careful as it takes some time to dry. Add a large Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearl to the inside of the shell. As you can see in the card above, I added a couple other small pearls to the front of the card. Isn't this pretty?
