Earthen Elegance Suite

Oh my gosh, if you hadn't taken a look at the Earthen Elegance suite on pages 70-71 of the 2023-24 Annual Catalog, you are missing out! This suite is so different from the usual flowery sets that we have come to know and love from Stampin' Up. It has deep earthy colors and can make lovely simple or stepped up cards. We are going to make the stepped up version today, but scroll to the end of this post and you can also see the simple version. If you want more information, and tips and tricks for using this set, please watch my Facebook live below or watch on my YouTube channel (Stamp with Dr Robin). Let's make this card! Gather your supplies
1. Pretty Peacock cardstock--Card base 5 1/2 by 8 1/2" scored on the long side at  4 1/4" and folded along the score line. A second piece 4 by 5 1/4". A scrap to cut the leaf.
2. Very Vanilla cardstock--3 3/4 by 5" for the inside and a piece to cut the sentiment piece
3. Copper Clay cardstock--die cut the large leaf
4. Earthen Elegance DSP --3 pieces cut 1" by 4 1/4"
5. Vellum--punch 3 from the 2" Circle Punch
6. Stamp Sets--Earthen Textures
7. Dies--Nested Essentials, Dots & Spots, and Earthen Textures
8. Ink--Copper Clay and Pretty Peacock
9. 2" Circle Punch
10. Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins
11 Natural Wavy Trim
12. Basic supplies--bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue),  Regular Dimensionals, Paper Trimmer, Glue Dots, Die Cutting and Embossing Machine, Tear 'N Tape

Let's start with stamping the inside Very Vanilla piece. Stamp the small pot in Copper Clay ink. Stamp the sentiment and the grasses with Pretty Peacock ink--I stamped off the grasses on a scrap piece to make sure they weren't too dark. I masked off the pot with some scratch paper to stamp the grasses--watch the video to see how to do that. Attach the inside piece to the folded Pretty Peacock card base.

Cut a sentiment out of Very Vanilla using the second smallest of the rounded rectangles from Nested Essentials die set. Stamp the sentiment on that using Pretty Peacock ink.

Take the 4 by 5 1/4 piece of  Pretty Peacock and cut out the holes using the Dots & Spots dies. Attach that to your card base. Lay the 3 pieces of DSP down on your card and figure out how you want them, then glue them down. Die cut the largest pot from the Earthen Elegance DSP and wrap the Natural Wavy Trim around twice, securing with a couple pieces of Tear 'N Tape in the back.

Then arrange the 3 vellum circles and attach them to the card, but make sure your adhesive is only under where the vase will sit so it doesn't show. Take your Copper Clay leaf and fold along all the embossed fold lines--this gives it great dimension. Before attaching the vase, attach the 2 leaves. Attach the vase using Dimensionals. Scatter 3 of the Copper Clay Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins around the card and stand back and admire your creation!

Here is a much simpler card that still looks great. Notice I stamped the leaves, then attached the same vase and leaf as above.
