One Horse Open Sleigh Card

We have a lot of wonderful things starting 7/6/23 over on Stampin' Up. First up is everyone can now buy several new products that are On-Line Exclusives, including this lovely 6" by 6"  Designer Series Paper called One Horse Open Sleigh. It is made to go with a new horse and sleigh stamp set, but as you can see, it is beautiful on its own. It has lovely wintery scenes on one side and nice small images on the other side. Perfect for holiday cards, but also great for other types of cards. Today I decided to make it in to a birthday card that you can use for a male or female birthday.

Another thing that starts 7/6 is we get a Clearance Rack refresh so check it out for some amazing deals. Last, but not least is Bonus Days--for every $50 you spend for the rest of July, you get a $5 coupon to use in August. Yay! Free stamping products!

Let's make this card! Gather your supplies
1. Lost Lagoon cardstock -Card base 5 1/2" by 8 1/2" scored on the long side at  2 1/8 " and 4 1/4"
2. Basic White cardstock--1 7/8" by 5 1/4" for the inside, a piece 3" by 3", and a scrap piece for the sentiment
3. Mossy Meadow cardstock--scrap about 3" by 3" to punch
4. One Horse Open Sleigh  6" by 6" DSP--Front piece 1 7/8" by 5 1/4", inside piece 4" by 5 1/4"
5. Stamp Sets--Handmade Hugs, Darling Details
6. Punch--Handmade Tag
7. Ink--Copper Clay and Mossy Meadow
8. Adhesive-Backed Snowflake Assortment
9. Basic supplies--bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue), Paper Trimmer, Dimensionals, Take Your Pick Tool

Start by folding your card base in half like usual, then fold back on the 2 1/8" score line. To cut this beautiful paper, I first cut the bottom of the paper off at 5 1/4". Then I cut the left (long) side at 1 7/8" and then the next piece at 4", leaving only 1/8" on the far right as scrap. Now if you get lost anywhere, please click on my Facebook Live below, or go to my YouTube (Stamp with Dr Robin) and follow along with me. Then check in with me every Monday at 1 pm PST for a new card, but I digress. Back to the card.

Stamp the Happy Birthday from Darling Details way at the top of the inside Basic White piece, so you have some room to write to the birthday celebrant. Now attach the pieces as shown below. Make sure when you attach the pretty DSP that you align those wooden horizontal fence lines so when the card is closed they line up like above and below--I feel like the little cabin is hidden away in the card when it is closed.

Now on to the front sentiment piece. Stamp the outline from Handmade Hugs stamp set on the diagonal with Mossy Meadow ink. Then stamp the inside sentiment in Copper Clay. Punch it out with the Handmade Hugs punch, then also punch the same out of Mossy Meadow. Cut the Mossy Meadow piece vertically as below, and separate the 2 pieces and attach to the back of the sentiment as on the right. Notice you can't tell it's been cut. Attach this to the card with Dimensionals, but only on the left half.

Place 1 small copper snowflake on the front sentiment and then scatter 1 small and 1 medium sized snowflake on the inside.

Below is my Facebook Live from 7/3/23 where I make this card and show you some tips to help with the cardmaking.
