Sneak Peek Thoughtful Expressions
Here is another sneak peek of a new bundle from the Jan-April 2024 Mini Catalog. The Thoughtful Expressions Bundle includes this beautiful hummingbird and flowers as well as 4 touching sentiments, including the one above. The dies include 2 sets of double-stitched nested dies for sentiments--the one above has 3 larger ones that match the one on this card. If you look closely at the background above and you will see a free Embossing Folder that comes with a matching stamp set that you can choose with a $100 order during Jan and Feb Sale a Bration.
I also want you to notice the dots in the flowers--they are another item in the upcoming Mini Catalog called Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots and you will want several packages of these as they include multiple colors that go with everything.
If you get lost, watch me make this card on my Facebook live below and then come back every Monday at 1 pm PST to join me for more card making fun! Or you can watch me on YouTube--both are on Stamp with Dr Robin.
Let's make this card! Gather your supplies:
1. Bubble Bath cardstock --Card base 5 1/2" by 8 1/2" scored on the long side at 4 1/4" and folded along the score line. Second piece 4" by 5 1/4". Scrap to cut out the flowers.
2. Parakeet Party cardstock--a scrap for the 2 leaves
3. Basic White cardstock--a piece cut with the smallest Thoughtful Expressions die this shape, inside piece 3 3/4" by 5" and a piece (about 1/4 sheet) for the flowers and hummingbird
4. Stamp Sets--Thoughtful Expressions
5. Dies--Thoughtful Expressions
6. Ink--Basic Gray, Orchid Oasis, Parakeet Party, Blueberry Bushel, Bubble Bath
7. Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots
8. Softly Sophisticated Embossing Folder (available Free during Sale a Bration, Jan 4th-Feb 29th 2024 only)
9. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Piercing Mat, Regular and Mini Dimensionals, Mini Blending Brushes, Cut and Emboss Machine
Fold your card base in half. Run the 4" by 5 1/4" piece of Bubble Bath through your Cut and Emboss Machine using the Softly Sophisticated Embossing Folder and attach this to the card base. Using Basic Gray ink, stamp the large group of flowers, the individual flower and the hummingbird on to Basic White. I used the Mini Blending Brushes to color these all in, then cut them out with the dies. I used the colors listed above and here's a close up--I started with Bubble Bath in the center of the flower and Parakeet Party on the head of the hummingbird and worked out from there.
You could also use Blends or Watercolor Pencils to color as I did below on the 3 3/4" by 5" piece of Basic White for the inside. Stamp the single flower and color it in and then attach that to the inside of the card.
Stamp the sentiment in Orchid Oasis on the die cut.
