Flowers of Beauty Quilt Card
Now that the new 2024-5 Annual Catalog is live for everyone, I hope you are enjoying it. I love the new look and the focus on learning how to stamp--don't miss the card layouts on the bottom of page 22. They are great for when you are stuck with ideas on how to use your supplies.
Today I used the Flowers of Beauty stamp set and dies, as well as the Unbounded Love stamp set for the sentiment and Unbounded Designer Series Paper. They are found on pages 52-55 and feature all the new In Colors which are so lovely. I learned this card layout from Karen Titus of Stamping on the Back Porch --I love how it uses 1" by 1" scraps of paper, which we all have laying around. If you have trouble following these directions, or you are more of a visual learner, watch my Facebook Live below, then come back every Monday at 1 pm PST and watch me make a new card!
Let's make this card. Gather your supplies:
Start by making the big flower. I used the "filled in" big flower stamp first with Berry Burst stamped off/second generation first. Then I used full strength Berry Burst with the outline stamp, though you could use it either one first, just remember to line up the two stamps on your blocks first. Use the coordinating die to cut it out.
Now line up the 6 one inch pieces of DSP as shown above, but don't stick them down yet. Stamp the sentiment from Unbounded Love in the bottom right corner and 3 of the small flowers in Pretty in Pink in the upper left. The small flowers are done with 2 stamps like the large one above. Stamp the filled in portion with stamped off Pretty in Pink and the outline in full strength 3 times in the upper right corner. Attach the big Berry Burst flower using Dimensionals. Now you can glue down the 6 one inch pieces of DSP. Start with the upper right and lower left corners and work in.
Below is my Facebook Live from 5/13/24 where I make these cards, and show you some tips to help with the cardmaking. Join me every Monday at 1 pm PST for some cardmaking fun over on Stamp with Dr Robin on Facebook. Or follow me on YouTube with the same name (be sure to hit the Subscribe button while you are there).
