Halloween Treat Boxes

Halloween is almost here and it is time to make some containers that you can use for Halloween candy for the kids, or just your friends. These are so easy to make with the Potions & Spells bundle and the Halloween Spells DSP, which is an Online Exclusive. Such a fun way to use these products. Remember these when you are getting ready for other holidays--they would be great on your holiday table at Christmas or Chanukah!

Let's make these treat containers! Gather your supplies:
For the sour cream container:
1. Halloween Spells DSP 6" by 6"
2. Basic White cardstock-- a piece cut with the second largest Stylish Shapes die and 1/2" scrap for the sentiment
3. Stamp Sets--Potions & Spells
4. Dies--Stylish Shapes
5. Ink--Memento Black and Granny Apple Green
6. Ribbon of your choice--I used the retired Metallic Woven Ribbon from last year's In Colors, but you could also use the Black and White or Vanilla Checked Ribbon
7. Blends--Lt and Dark Smokey Slate, Lt Granny Apple, Dark Flirty Flamingo
8. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal), Paper Trimmer, Tear 'N Tape, Regular Dimensionals, hole punch

Start by scoring at the top and bottom of the DSP 1/4" and 3/8" from the edges. Using the Tear 'N Tape on one of the side edges, make the the paper into a roll shape. Please watch my Facebook Live below to help with making this. Then use the Tear 'N Tape on the bottom inside to tape the roll shut. For the top, squeeze the roll the OPPOSITE way and while holding it shut, punch 2 holes with your hole punch. Thread some ribbon through and tie a bow.

Stamp the cat on the Stylish Shape die (near the bottom) in Memento Black. Color it in using the Light and Dark Smokey Slate Blends. Use the Light Granny Apple Green on the eyes and the Flirty Flamingo on his cute nose. Stamp the sentiment on the 1/2" strip of Basic White and slant cut the ends. Attach this to the circle using Dimensionals, and then use 3 Dimensionals down the center of the circle to attach it to the treat container. So cute!

On to the cauldron treat box, which is so fun to make and stands up on its own.
Gather your supplies:
1. Granny Apple Green Glimmer paper--from either the Festive 12" x 12" in the Sept-Dec Mini Catalog or the Online Exclusive Berry Burst, Old Olive (sorry, looks like Granny Apple to me) and White 12" by 12" Glimmer Specialty Paper, cut with the Potions & Spells die
2. Basic White cardstock-- a scrap piece to stamp the books
3. Basic Black cardstock 4" by 4", and cut 2 cauldrons with the dies
4. Peach Pie cardstock--1/2" by about 3" strip
5. Stamp Sets--Potions & Spells
6. Dies--Potions & Spells
7. Ink--Memento Black
8. Blends--Dark Granny Apple, Dark Peach Pie, Dark Highland Heather
9. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal), Paper Trimmer, Tear 'N Tape, Regular Dimensionals

Start by scoring the Basic Black piece, 1 1/2" by 2 1/2" on one side and 1" and 3" on the other way. Again, watch the video below if you get stuck. Fold along the fold lines a bit so you can see them better. Cut from the edge to the first fold line along the score lines the at 1" and 3". Then in the little tab in the middle cut a small piece out like below. Do it on the other side too, then fold and burnish with your bone folder inward on all the score lines.

Put Tear 'N Tape as pictured below on the edge and near the fold. Take off the white tape, then fold the tabs inside the box and the Tear 'N Tape edges to meet the fold line on the opposite side.

Glue the glimmer paper to the top of one of the cauldrons. Attach the 2 cauldrons to the box you just made, making sure they are even front to back as well as the feet on the bottom so the box will stand on its own.

Now let's decorate the cauldron some more--I just did one side, but you could do both. Stamp the stack of books in Memento Black and color them in using the Blends above. Cut them out with the dies, or fussy cut them. Attach to the cauldron. Stamp the sentiment on your Peach Pie strip and attach that to the books using Dimensionals. The kids, and adults, will love this treat holder.
