Celebrate the Miracle in Navy

I have several Chanukah cards to share with you over the next few days. Chanukah commemorates the re-dedication of the temple in Jerusalem when the army of Jews led by the Macabees drove out the Greeks/Syrians from the area. They found enough oil to light the Everlasting (always on) Lamp for one day but the oil lasted 8 days--such a miracle! The Jewish calendar is a lunar calendar, which is why the holiday moves around every year. This year in 2024 it starts the night of 12/25 and lasts for 8 nights. We light the lights of a special menorah (called a Chanukiah as it has 9 candles instead of the usual 7 candles of a regular menorah) adding a candle every day, increasing the light of the world every day!

This card uses the Celebrate the Miracle stamp set, which is still available as an Online Exclusive on the Stampin' Up web site. Check it out as it has lots of cute stamps including all that I used today. If you get lost, or just want some extra tips and tricks on making this card, please watch my Facebook Live below. Then come back every Monday at 1 pm PST and watch my next live at Stamp with Dr  Robin.

Let's make this card! Gather your supplies:

1. Night of Navy cardstock --Card base 5 1/2" by 7 1/4" scored on the long side at 4 1/4".  Second piece 4 1/4" by 4 1/4" scored at 3/4"
2. Basic White cardstock--a piece 4" by 5 1/4" for the inside of your card. A second piece 3 /14" by 4"
3. Regal Winter DSP 2 3/4" by 5 1/4"
4. Countryside in DSP 1 1/4" by 5 1/4"
5. Stamp Sets--Celebrate the Miracle
6. Ink--Night of Navy, Boho Blue, Crushed Curry
7. Navy and Gold Glittered Ribbon
8. Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins
10. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Take Your Pick Tool,  Regular Dimensionals, Mini Glue dots

Fold the card base along the score line. Attach the Regal Winter DSP to the front. Now stamp the inside sentiment before attaching the 1 1/4" piece of Countryside Inn DSP to the right side of it (hold the DSP in place so you stamp the inside sentiment in the correct spot. Don't attach this piece just yet.

Fold the 4 1/4" square of Night of Navy along the score line. Put some glue or Seal + on the back of the small folded part and attach it to the inside of the card--make sure when folded it is even with the right side of the card base and also approximately in the middle, top to bottom. Now attach the inside piece which will cover that small strip of Navy.

Stamp the menorah in Night of Navy on the 3 /14" by 4" piece of Basic White--be sure to leave enough room for the ribbon below. Stamp the candles in Boho Blue and the flames in Crushed Curry. Tie the Navy and Gold Glittered Ribbon around the bottom of this paper. Attach to the folded front of the small Night of Navy flap. Attach one large and one small gold Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequin and you are done.
