Iconic Chanukah
I have been making lots of Chanukah cards lately and most have been with the Online Exclusive Celebrate the Miracle stamp set, but my card today is an out of the box use of the Iconic Imagery (also an Online Exclusive) stamp set. I love thinking of new ways to use my stamps and, until the Celebrate the Miracle stamp set came out, we had to really get creative with our stamps to make a Chanukah card. Well, here's my "let's get creative" card.
Let's make this card! Gather your supplies:
1. Thick Basic White cardstock --Card base 5 1/2"" by 8 1/2" scored on the long side at 4 1/4" and folded along the score line
2. Basic White cardstock-- 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" (or 4" by 5 1/4" like I did in the video) and a second piece 3" by 3 1/2"
3. Iconic Celebrations--2 3/4" by 5 1/4" cut on the short side 1 1/2", 3/4" and 1/2"
4. Silver Foil--1/2" by 3" and a piece punched with the 1 3/4" circle punch
5. Stamp Set--Iconic Imagery
6. Punch--1 3/4" circle
7. Ink--Misty Moonlight and Crushed Curry
8. Dashing Designs 3D Embossing Folder
9. Pecan Pie & Clear Ribboned Adhesive-Backed Dots
10. Silver & White 1/2" Sheer Ribbon
11. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Take Your Pick Tool, Regular Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots
Now take your 3" by 3 1/2" piece of Basic White and place it in landscape position. Lightly draw a straight line in pencil at 1" up from the bottom (use a ruler or straight edge). There are two candles in this set. For each candle above I stamped the more filled in candle in Misty Moonlight first in stamped off (stamp it first on a scratch piece and then on the paper) and then the striped-looking one full strength inside the other. I stamped the center candle first, about 1/4" above the pencil line. Then I stamped 4 on each side of the center with the bottom of the candle ON the pencil line. For an easier way to do this, just use the striped candle alone, like I did on my video. Stamp a candle on the inside of the card too.
Stamp the inside sentiment as below in Misty Moonlight--you will have to piece together the words.
Place the 1/2" by 3" piece of Silver Foil so that it covers your line as well as the bottom of all the candles (watch out that it is up to the center one). Erase any pencil lines that stick out. For the rounded base, take a scrap of Silver Foil that has a straight edge and stick it in the 1 3/4" circle punch so that the straight edge is about 1/3 of the way into the punch. Attach this partial circle under the 1/2" piece.
Tie a knot in the Silver & White 1/2" Sheer Ribbon and slant cut the ends. Scatter 3 of the Clear Ribboned Adhesive-Backed Dots and you are done. Below is the card I made on the live, where I just used the one candle piece.
