Sneak Peak of the Floral Delight Suite
I can hardly wait for you all to be able to order from the new Jan-April Mini Catalog on 1/7/25 and this suite is one that I am sure everyone will want. The bright and beautiful yellow focus of this suite is just so beautiful--it makes me so happy to see all the yellow in the DSP and makes me think of spring. I had such fun making cards from this suite which I shared on my Facebook Live at Stamp with Dr Robin on 12/16 (my computer isn't letting me download the video today to share on here). Be sure to watch me make this card, and also give tips on using this suite as the multi-step stamps and dies can be a bit confusing.
Let's make this card! Gather your supplies:
1. Peach Pie cardstock --Card base 5 1/2"" by 8 1/2" scored on the long side at 4 1/4" and folded along the score line
2. Basic White cardstock-- 2 pieces 3 3/4" by 5" pieces and a small scrap for the sentiment piece
3. Floral Delight DSP--the Pecan Pie piece is 3 3/4" by 5" and the strip under the "wishing" is 1" by 4", another piece 1/2" by 3 3/4" for the bottom of the inside piece.
4. Pecan Pie cardstock--1 1/2" by 4"
5. Lemon Lolly cardstock--1 1/2" by 4"
6. Dies--Delightful Wishes and Perennial Postage
7. Ink--Lemon Lolly, Peach Pie, Pecan Pie and Old Olive
8. Pecan Pie & Clear Ribboned Adhesive-Backed Dots
9. Adhesive Sheet--1 1/2" by 4"
10. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Take Your Pick Tool, Regular and Mini Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots
Let's start with stamping. Stamp the more solid/fuller group of flowers in Lemon Lolly on one of the 3 3/4" by 5" pieces of Basic White, then stamp the highlights of the flowers in Peach Pie. Next stamp the Pecan Pie stem and then the Old Olive leaves.
Attach the 1" piece of DSP diagonally across the bottom of the above piece and cut the whole thing out with the second largest Perennial Postage die
Stamp the sentiment on the skinny piece of Basic White in Peach Pie.
Peel off the back of the piece of Adhesive Sheet and attach it to the Pecan Pie piece of cardstock. Die cut the smaller/skinny "wishing" from this. Pull off the pack of the Adhesive Sheet and stick it to the Lemon Lolly that you cut out with the larger wishing die.
Let's put it all together. Fold the card base in half. Attach the 3 3/4" by 5" piece of DSP to the front of the card. Attach the white Perennial Postage piece to the top of that using Dimensionals--turn it on a diagonal like I did or leave it straight on. Attach the word wishing to the card. Attach the sentiment strip using Mini Dimensionals. Put 2 small Pecan Pie Ribboned Adhesive-Backed Dots as the dot on the "i"s in the wishing die cut. Either use a larger Pecan Pie Dot next to the flowers, or one of the mini bees in this suite as I did below.
For the inside, attached the 1/2" piece of DSP to the other 3 3/4" by 5" piece of Basic White and attach that to the inside of the card.
Here's the card I made on the Facebook Live below--the difference is I used Daffodil Delight instead of Peach Pie ink on the words and flowers.
Please watch my Facebook Live from 12/16/24 ( my computer isn't letting me download the video today to share on here) where I make this card, and show you some tips to help with the cardmaking.
