Umbrella Days Fun Fold

This card is a wonderful combination of 2 bundles that are available as Online Exclusives, meaning they are not in any catalog. Today was a rainy day here in San Diego, so I figured it was the perfect time to play with the Umbrella Days bundle for the first time. And if you don't have the Everyday Arches dies yet, what are you waiting for?? These are probably my favorite dies in all the January new releases, both in the Jan-April catalog AND the Online Exclusives. The matching stamp set and paper are pretty cool too, but we aren't using them today. Here's another view of the finished card:

As always, if you get lost, please watch my Facebook Live below where I made this card and give you tips and tricks to make it easier. And come back every Monday at 1 pm PST and watch me again over at Stamp with Dr Robin on Facebook or YouTube a bit later when I upload it. Don't forget to subscribe!

Let's make this card! Gather your supplies:

1. Pool Party cardstock --Card base 5 1/2" by 8 1/2" scored on the long side at 4 1/4".
2. Basic White cardstock--a piece 4 1/4" by 11" scored at 5 1/2", a second piece about 4" by 5 1/4". Also die cut a big and small cloud from the Umbrella Days dies
3. Bloom Impressions DSP--2 different patterns, about 2" by 3"
4. Stamp Sets--Umbrella Days
5. Dies--Umbrella Days, Everyday Arches
6. Ink--Memento Black and Smoky Slate
7. Blender Pen--Light Blackberry Bliss for the card above and Dark Melon Mambo for the one at the end
8. Embossing Folder--Brick (retired) or Exposed Brick (current but I don't have this one)
9. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Take Your Pick Tool,  Regular and Mini Dimensionals, Piercing Mat or Glass Mat Studio, Water Painter, Cut and Emboss Machine

Unfold your Pool Party card base and using the 4th largest Everyday Arch die, cut a hole in the front of your card--make sure the edges are straight and even. Then emboss this front/die cut side with one of the Brick Embossing Folders--remember to just emboss the front of the card.

Fold your 4 1/4" by 11" piece of Basic White in half on the score line. Using the largest Everyday Arch, die cut through both layers, making sure the top of the die is ABOVE the fold line as below.

Now use the raindrops stamp and Smokey Slate ink and stamp rain all over the front of the Basic White folded piece. Use your Water Painter and some diluted Smokey Slate ink to make some puddles on the bottom of this piece and also put some on the clouds. Watch my video below to see how I did this.

Open this piece up and stamp the inside saying with Memento Black (we will add the flowers later).  Attach the back of this card piece inside the Pool Party card, making sure you can't see any of the stitching on the white piece when the card is fully closed.

Now we are going to make the lady with her umbrella and the dog. Use your 4" by 5 1/4" piece of Basic White and Memento Black to stamp the lady and the dog and cut them out with the dies.

Using Memento Black, now stamp just mostly the umbrella on the pink flowered Bloom Impression DSP, fussy cut just the umbrella out and attach it to the Basic White stamped piece. Stamp mostly just the dress onto a different piece of  DSP and fussy cut it out. Don't forget to cut out the little slit on the bottom of her dress. Attach to the lady. Color the boots using Light Blackberry Bliss Blend.

Attach her just above her "puddle" (or shadow) using Regular Dimensionals.

For the dog, cut his adorable sweater out of the same DSP as you used for the umbrella and attach to the dog. Attach him above his "puddle" (or shadow) using Regular and Mini Dimensionals. Die cut the larger group of flowers out of the same DSP and attach 6 of them around your inside sentiment (see above).

Attach the large and small clouds to the top of the Basic White piece--try to keep most of them hidden for when the card is closed.

Here's the card we made on my Facebook Live using some different Bloom Impressions DSP on her dress and Melon Mambo Blend on her boots.
