Delightful Wishes Fun Fold

If you want a bright and cheerful suite of products, the Floral Delight Suite in the Jan-April Mini Catalog on pages 33-37 is for you! This suite includes all the products I have used on this card, plus a pack of gorgeous vellum. It will certainly chase away the winter blues with this Daffodil Delight and Lemon Lolly floral paper. I also happen to love word dies, so this "wishing" set of dies is just up my alley and can be used in so many types of cards--birthday, sympathy, etc.

You can't see it in the card above, but this card is a fun fold and has a surprise inside. It is actually really easy to make, but hard to explain in writing (but I will give it a try), so watching my Facebook Live below (or my YouTube at Stamp with Dr Robin) may be easier.

Let's make this card! Gather your supplies:

1. Daffodil Delight cardstock --Card base 4 1/4" by 11" scored on the long side at 4 1/4" and 5 1/2"
2. Lemon Lolly cardstock--2" by 4"
3. Basic White cardstock-- inside piece 2 7/8" square, a second piece punched with Hexagon Punch
4. Floral Delight DSP--4" square and second piece (back of the same one) 1" by 4", a different pattern 6" by 6" for the inside
5. Bundle--Delightful Wishes
6. Hexagon Punch
7. Ink--Daffodil Delight, Old Olive
8. Daffodil Delight 1/8" Satin Ribbon
9. Tiny Bee Trinkets
10. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Take Your Pick Tool,  Piercing Mat, Regular Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, Tear 'N Tape

Start by putting the card together. Fold the card in half along the 5 1/2" score line, then fold back along the 4 1/4" score back. Attach the 4" square of DSP to the front square. Attach the 1" piece to the part closest to the fold. Tie the Daffodil Delight Satin Ribbon around the front of the card inside the 1 1/4" part (midway between the 2 scored lines). Put 2 pieces of Tear 'N Tape inside the card along either side of the ribbon, close but not over the fold. Take off the other white paper from the Tear 'N Tape and adhere to the back--you've now made a book-binding card!

Attach the Basic White Hexagon punch to the front with Dimensionals.

Stamp "wishing" in Old Olive on the Lemon Lolly cardstock and use the larger die to cut it out. Attach to the hexagon using Multipurpose Glue (watch that the g and the w hang over the edge and don't need glue).  Attach one of the bees using a smushed up Mini Glue Dot or a dot of Multipurpose Glue.

Time to make the inside piece. Place the 6" square piece of DSP with which side you want to be the inside facing up to you. Fold it in half one way towards you, then the other way. Then open it up and turn it upside down (so what you want on the outside of the paper) so the other side is showing and fold it along the diagonal. See below I did it with a brighter piece of DSP so it would show up better for you. For this example I would use the red with the polka dots for the inside.

Now turn it so the pattern you wanted for the inside is facing up and fold it into itself like this:

Now take your folded up piece and put it on the diagonal inside your card like this so the points are touching the sides and the top/bottom of the card. Put adhesive on the bottom of the folded square to hold it in place. Put adhesive on the top of the square and fold the card up. Hold it closed like this to make sure it sticks well if you used glue.

Use Old Olive ink to stamp the "you a happy birthday" on the 2 7/8" piece of Basic White--be sure to stamp it when the piece is in the diamond, not square position like below. Use Daffodil Delight ink and the small flower--stamp it off on a piece of scratch paper and without re-inking stamp it over your sentiment. Glue it in place as below. Such a surprise fold for whomever you send this to!
