Beautiful Butterflies
I am hoping a lot of you picked up the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set for free last month when you could get it as part of Sale-a-Bration. That is all you need to make this card. Then later this month you just need to buy the hybrid embossing folder and dies when they come back in stock the week of 3/31! This suite is just so versatile--I demonstrated on my Facebook Live this week all the different things that the hybrid embossing folder can do. The suite also includes the Beautiful Bokeh Designer Series Paper and the Itty Bitty Bokeh Mix of embellishments. For this card, I decided to go back to the Annual Catalog for the Designer Series Paper, as the annual catalog will be ending soon and I think this DSP is so beautiful.
Let's make this card! Gather your supplies:
1. Petunia Pop cardstock --Card base 8 1/2" by 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" and folded in half on the score line.
2. Unbounded Beauty DSP--4" by 5 1/4", a piece 2 1/4" by 5 7/8" if you want to put it on your envelope flap, a scrap to cut a little butterfly for the inside
3. Basic White cardstock-- two pieces 3 5/8" by 4 7/8"
4. Pretty in Pink cardstock--3/4" by about 1 1/2"
5. Stamp sets--Beautiful Butterflies
6. Dies--Beautiful Butterflies
7. Ink--Memento Black
8. 2024-26 In Color Shimmer Gems
9. Stampin' Write Markers in Pretty in Pink, Petunia Pop and Summer Splash
10. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick Tool, Piercing Mat or Glass Mat Studio, Regular Dimensionals, Stampin' Spritzer
Start by stamping the watercolor background. I used a size H block (I said "I" block in the video, but I was wrong, which is good as you can still buy the H block) and scribbled with the Stampin' Write markers starting with the lightest (Pretty in Pink), then Petunia Pop and lastly Summer Splash. I overlapped each a bit when scribbling. I then spritzed some water on the block using my Stampin' Spritzer and quickly stamped it on the left side of the Basic White cardstock.
Let this dry completely before stamping 3 of the butterflies in Memento Black.
Stamp the "hello" on the 3/4" piece of Pretty in Pink and flag the right side.
Let's put the card together. Attach the little die cut butterfly on the other piece of Basic White and attach to the inside of your card. For the front, attach the 4" by 5 1/4" piece of DSP and then the stamped piece. Be sure to use plenty of adhesive on this piece, as it will try to pull up otherwise. Attach the sentiment with Dimensionals. Sprinkle 3 of the Poppy Parade 2024-26 In Color Shimmer Gems around and you are done.
On the Facebook Live I showed you the other piece of cardstock that I had already stamped. This is the card I made from that. The difference is I used Pretty in Pink for the card base and the pink Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins for this card.
Here is what I made from the Pretty in Pink piece I cut out on the Facebook Live.
And here is the original card I made using Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue and Azure Afternoon markers.
Below is my Facebook Live from 3/3/25 where I make this card, and show you some tips to help with the cardmaking.
