Sweet Jar Meets Painted Stripes

I thought I would use a stamp set and a bundle that I hadn't played with yet, and that is the Painted Stripes stamp set and the Sweet Jar bundle. Painted Stripes is a large (as in use an F block) background stamp that I used to make the tone on tone stripes on this card. Several people who saw the card after I had made it thought that it was Designer Series Paper that they had never seen before--I sure fooled them.

The Sweet Jar bundle is a punch bundle that contains so many different stamps that you can use to fill your jar, including the jelly beans that I used that can also turn into chocolate chip cookies as well as a flower (or 4 leaf clover) stamp and some birthday candles and hearts. Of course, you can fill yours with other stamps from a variety of stamp sets--let your imagination run wild!

If you want some tips on using these stamp sets, or are more of a visual learner, watch my Facebook Live below, and then come back every Monday at 1 pm and watch me make some other cards.

Let's make this card! Gather your supplies:

1. Thick Basic White cardstock --Card base 4 1/4" by 11" scored at 5 1/2" and folded in half on the score line.
2.Basic White cardstock--approximately 3" by 3" for the jar, another piece cut from the sentiment die from Delightful Wishes
3. Strawberry Splash 4 1/8" by 5 3/8"
4. Stamp sets-- Painted Stripes, Sweet Jar
5. Dies--Delightful Wishes, Everyday Arches
6. Punch--Sweet Jar
7. 2024-26 In Color Flat Pearls
8. Ink--Memento Black, Smokey Slate, Strawberry Slush
9. Pretty in Pink Bordered Ribbon
10. Stampin' Write Markers (or Blends) in bright colors. On this card I used Strawberry Slush, Shy Shamrock, Timid Tiger, Gorgeous Grape, and Real Red
11. White Gel Pen
12. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick Tool,  Piercing Mat or Glass Mat Studio, Mini Glue Dots, Regular and Mini Dimensionals

Start by stamping the Painted Stripes stamp in Strawberry Slush on Strawberry Slush paper--watch the video below if you want some tips on using a large stamp like this. Attach this to the folded Thick Basic White card base with just a tiny piece of Seal or double sided tape in the center, just to keep it in place. Take the 4th and 5th largest Everyday Arches dies and with them both nesting together, cut through both the stamped Strawberry Slush piece AND the card front. Now attach the main (rectangular) part of the Strawberry Slush cardstock to the front of the card. You will have a small frame that we won't use on this card.

Take the Basic White piece off the back of the Everyday Arches Strawberry Slush arched piece and use it for something else. Take the Strawberry Slush arched piece and attach it to the inside of the card as below.

Now to make the jar. Stamp the jar and lid with Memento Black and punch them out. Use your Smokey Slate ink stamped off TWICE to give you a faint image of the jelly beans. Color them in using brightly colored Stampin' Write Markers or Blends--I used the colors I listed above for this card. Take your white gel pen (sorry, not a Stampin' Up! item) and put a small line on some of the jelly beans to highlight them as below. Attach the jar and ajar lid to the arch using Dimensionals for the jar and mini ones for the lid..

I added a Pretty in Pink bow to the jar with a Mini Glue Dot. This thin bow was made by cutting about 9 inches of  Pretty in Pink Bordered Ribbon in half down the middle. Add one of each of the 3 sizes of Pretty in Pink 2024-26 In Color Flat Pearls to the front and you are done. Be careful when you write on the inside that it won't show through the arch when you close the card.

Here's another card I made with the same technique using the birthday candles and Shy Shamrock ink and paper.

And here they are both together. Enjoy!
