Perfectly Pears Pop-out Card
I have really had a lot of fun lately playing with the Painterly Pears suite of products, especially this gorgeous Designer Series Paper. I recently watched Patty Bennett (a very talented Stampin' Up demonstrator) stamp a bunch of these pears, so decided to stamp some and couldn't stop! I love trying different colors on the pears, adding color with sponge daubers mostly. I learned how to do this fun fold from Lisa Curio--it uses a good sized piece of the DSP but packs a punch when you open it up as you can see below. The best way to learn how to fold this is by watching my video below--it's going to be hard to describe how to fold it as it doesn't show up well in photos. Here is the card open:
Let's make this card! Gather your supplies:
1. Old Olive cardstock --Card base 4 1/4"by 5 1/2". Also die cut the large stem of leaves.
2. Basic White cardstock--Cut 2 of the 4th largest Textured Notes die cuts. A second piece to stamp and cut the pear and leaves (I suggest you just use 1/2 a piece of paper and stamp a bunch of pears and leaves)
3. Painterly Pears DSP--6 3/4" by 8" (be sure to watch the direction of your paper)
4. Stamp Set--Perfectly Pears
5. Dies--Perfectly Pears, Textured Notes
6. Mossy Meadow & Gold Trim
7. Ink--Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green, Lemon Lolly Flirty Flamingo, Early Espresso.
8. Low Profile Sparkle Dots
9. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick Tool, Piercing Mat or Glass Mat Studio, Regular Dimensionals, Sponge Daubers, Mini Glue Dots
Now put your fingers under those 2 side small triangles and fold them inside, and it should fold into/under that small square creating your folded card. Again, watching the video will help. Attach this to the Old Olive card base.
Time to stamp some pears. I used just the inside stamp for my pears. I suggest you stamp a lot of pears using different colors and see what you like--I tried to make these look like one of the pears on the DSP I was using. I started by stamping the whole pear in Lemon Lime Twist, then used my sponge daubers to add Flirty Flamingo in the center, Granny Apple Green, then Old Olive around the edge. I then washed off the stamp, and stamped over it again with Lemon Lolly. Then stamp the dots in Early Espresso.
For the leaves, I stamped the outline in Granny Apple Green, then the second/inside stamp with Lemon Lolly and Old Olive around the bottom using my sponge daubers. Cut out the pear and leaves and glue them together.
Stamp the sentiment using Old Olive on one of the Textured Notes die cuts.
I edged the Old Olive die cut with some Mossy Meadow using my sponge daubers then glued it to the Textured Note sentiment piece. Attach the pear using Dimensionals. Attach this whole thing to the front of the card using Dimensionals--just make sure you are only attaching it to the top corner square so the card can open.
For the inside Textured Notes piece I stamped the flowers in stamped off Darling Duckling and the centers in full strength Darling Duckling. Attach this to the inside into the corner where it won't be seen when the card is closed.
Finish off the card by tying a knot in the Mossy Meadow & Gold Trim and attach to the upper left of the Textured Note die cut with a Mini Glue Dot. Add 3 Mossy Meadow Low Profile Sparkle Dots and you are done.
Here's another pear card made from a different piece of the DSP. I just ordered another package of the DSP as I can't get enough of it!
