Light & Wonder for Divali
The Light & Wonder bundle is part of the Lights of Aurora suite on pages 36-37 in the 2025 Sept-Dec Mini Catalog. The matching Designer Series Paper reminds me of the beautiful Northern Lights and I thought it would be perfect for some Divali cards. Divali is the Hindu festival of light that starts this year on October 21st and celebrates the spiritual victory of Dharma over Adharma, light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. Of course, this card would also be perfect for Chanukah as that Jewish holiday has similar meaning.
Let's make this card! Gather your supplies:
1. Secret Sea cardstock --Card base 5 1/2"by 8 1/2" scored on the long side at 4 1/4" and folded in half on the score line.
2. Lights of Aurora DSP 3 1/2" by 1 3/8" x3
3. Basic White cardstock-- 1 1/2" strip for the sentiments, 3 3/4" by 5"
4. Secret Sea Peaceful Garden Glimmer Paper--cut one of the larger leaves from the Peace on Earth dies
5. Petunia Pop cardstock--3 3/4" by 5"
6. Stamp sets--Light & Wonder
7. Dies--Peace on Earth, Branching Out
8. Ink--Petunia Pop (plus the matching Stampin' Write Marker)
9. Frosted Iridescent Dots
10. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick Tool, Piercing Mat or Glass Mat Studio, Regular Dimensionals
Let's start by stamping the sentiments on a scrap of Basic White cardstock using Petunia Pop ink. Fussy cut them out separately. Be sure to and a "&" or "+" with your marker after the work Light.
Fold the card base in half. Attach the 3 strips of Lights of Aurora DSP to the Petunia Pop cardstock--I usually do the top and bottom ones first and then add the middle one to help with spacing. Attach this to the card, then attach the sentiment pieces with Dimensionals.
Cut the glimmer paper leaves in half--watch my Facebook Live video below to see how I did that. Then come back every Monday at 1 pm PST and watch me make another card. Put a bit of glue on the back of the stems and shove them under the top left and bottom right sentiment pieces.
For the inside I used a 1/2" scrap of the DSP along the bottom of the 3 3/4" by 5" piece of Basic White.
Use one of each of the pink Frosted Iridescent Dots around the card an you are done. Here's another card using the Petunia Pop 2024-6 In Color Pearls as decoration.
