Fern & Flora Eclipse Card

If you haven't seen the new 2026 May-August catalog yet, you are in for a big, lovely surprise on pages 34-35 where you will find the Moonlit Flora Suite that includes the beautiful Fern & Flora bundle, the Fern & Flora 3D embossing folder you see in Old Olive on my card, and the extraordinary Moonlit Flora Designer Series Paper. If you know me at all, you know I am a sucker for a good DSP and this one is dark and moody and so perfect with pops of the new Golden Glow and Berry Burst.

Hopefully you can see on the card, that the DSP is cut in strips and every other one is popped up. This technique is called and eclipse card, or also a double vision card, but I like eclipse better for a name. If you want to see some tips on how to make this card, please watch my video below and come back for my Facebook Live (on Stamp with Dr Robin of course) every Monday at 1 pm.

Let's make this card. Gather your supplies:

  1. Old Olive cardstock—card base 5 1/2" by 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼” on the long side and folded along the score line. Second piece 4" by 5 1/4" run through your Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine inside the Fern & Flora 3D embossing folder.
  2. Secret Sea cardstock--3 1/4" by 4 1/4"
  3. Basic White cardstock--inside piece 3 3/4" by 5"
  4. Moonlit Flora DSP--3" by 4". Golden Glow sentiment piece is 1 1/4" by 3"
  5. Stamp set--Fern & Flora
  6. Embossing Folder--Fern & Flora 3D
  7. Ink—Secret Sea, Old Olive and Mossy Meadow
  8. Secret Sea Bordered Open Weave Ribbon
  9. Dewdrops Embellishments
  10. Foam Adhesive Sheets--Cut 3 strips slightly smaller than 1/2" by 4"
  11. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick Tool,  Piercing Mat or Glass Mat Studio, Regular Dimensionals
Start by cutting the 3" by 4" piece of Moonlit Flora DSP into 1/2" strips vertically along the 3" side--be sure to KEEP THEM IN ORDER. Put a strip of Foam Adhesive strip along the back of every other strip (so first, third and 5th strips OR 2nd, 4th and 6th). Starting with the left most strip, align it on the Secret Sea piece so that the top, bottom and left side margins are equal. If the first strip was popped up on the Foam Adhesive strips, then put adhesive on the second strip and abut it next to the first strip. Keep going until they are all on. I actually put the last strip on before I put the 5th strip on so that the right side would be even. You can see a closeup below.

Now let's stamp--Stamp the outline of the sentiment piece in Secret Sea on the Golden Glow strip of DSP. Stamp the sentiment in Mossy Meadow. Cut it out using the die.

For the inside, stamp the sentiment in Secret Sea and the large fern in Old Olive that has been stamped off first. Attach this to the inside of the card.

Time to put it all together. Attach the 4" by 5 1/4" piece of embossed Old Olive to the front of the card. Wrap a piece of the Secret Sea Bordered Open Weave Ribbon around the large DSP piece and tie a knot. Attach this to the front of the card. Attach the sentiment piece using Dimensionals tucked in the not-raised up strips and a drop of glue on the raised up one.

Scatter 1 large and 2 small Dewdrops Embellishments on the DSP piece and you are done.
