Peace, Love & Joy


I've been making a lot of cards using the Peaceful Garden suite lately as I am having a class this month using this lovely suite. I decided I wanted to make a card that used the products in a different way, with different colors and this is what I came up with. If you don't recognize the Designer Series Paper that is Pumpkin Pie colored, that is because it is in the Annual Catalog--it is called Irresistible Designs and it is white embossed in white, so when you color it then you can see the pattern. It comes in this pattern, one with leaves and one that is more graphic with lines. I think it pairs perfectly with the Peaceful Garden DSP behind it.



Let's make this card! Gather your supplies:

1. Thick Basic White cardstock --Card base 5 1/2"by 8 1/2" scored on the long side at 4 1/4" and folded in half on the score line.
2. Peaceful Garden DSP 4 1/4" by 5 1/2"
3. Basic White cardstock-- die cut for the sentiment
4. Secret Sea cardstock--larger die cut for behind the sentiment, 2 pieces 1/2-3/4" by 5 1/2"
6. Pumpkin Pie cardstock--cut one of the larger leaves
7. Crumb Cake cardstock--cut one of the larger leaves
8. Secret Sea Peaceful Garden Glimmer Paper--cut one of the larger leaves
9. Irresistible Designs DSP--3 1/2" by 5 1/2"
10. Stamp sets--Peace on Earth and Mazel Tov
11. Ink--Secret Sea and Pumpkin Pie
12. Hues of Blue Flowers
13. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick Tool,  Piercing Mat or Glass Mat Studio, Regular Dimensionals, Blending Brush, Sponge Dauber

Fold your card base in half along the score line. Attach the Peaceful Garden DSP to the front of the card base. Use your Blending Brush to color the  Irresistible Designs DSP with Pumpkin Pie ink. Then use a Sponge Dauber to color the centers of the flowers. Take a Kleenex or paper towel and wipe the paper off to remove the ink from the white embossed area. Cut off 1/2" (by 5 1/2") from the bottom of this paper to be used on the inside. Now attach the 1/2-3/4" strips of Secret Sea to the back of your colored  Irresistible Designs DSP and attach it to the card front.

Stamp the sentiment (it combines 2 stamps from the Peace on Earth set) in Pumpkin Pie on the smaller Basic White die cut. Attach it to the larger, Secret Sea, die cut. 


Cut each of the leaf pieces in half. Figure out where you want your 3 leaf pieces and tape them down with either double sided tape or Tear 'N Tape. Attach the sentiment piece using Dimensionals. Place 3 of the smallest Secret Sea flowers under the sentiment.

For the inside of the card, use whatever sentiment you'd like and stamp in Pumpkin Pie--I used one from the Mazel Tov stamp set as I needed some Rosh Hashanah cards--Happy new year to all who celebrate. Attach the 1/2" piece of  Irresistible Designs DSP, that you cut off above, to the bottom inside and you are done.

  Floating Christmas Tree So if you make a lot of holiday cards like I do, it is time to start working on them! I know, I know, we haven't had Halloween yet, but if you want to send them out before the holiday it is time to get working.   Pick of the Patch Joy Fold Card This fun joy fold card just makes me smile. Sentimental Christmas Fun Fold Card I think the Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper is just so soft, beautiful and a little bit retro. I also love that for every pack of this paper you buy, Stampin' Up will donate $3 to children's literacy in the US, which makes it twice as nice. So please buy this DSP!
