Blue Pine Tree Trimmings

Who says Christmas trees can't be blue? Not me! I was looking for a way to use my blue glimmer paper and my stash of Peaceful Garden DSP as I had bought a lot of both and decided to make a Christmas card in non-traditional colors and here it is. I love how sparkly the Glimmer Paper is and how well it compliments the Peaceful Garden DSP. And I feel like we could all use some extra glimmer at the holiday time.

Let's make this card! Gather your supplies:

  1. Cloud Cover cardstock—card base 4 ¼” by 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼” on the long side. Second piece die cut using the Pine Tree Trimmings. ½” strip for sentiment
  2. Peaceful Garden DSP—4” by 5 ¼”, the smaller strip is 2 ½” by 5 ½”
  3. Basic White cardstock—inside piece  3 ¾” by 5”
  4. Glimmer Paper— die cut one of each color using the Pine Tree Trimmings
  5. Stamp sets—Pine Tree Trimmings, Peace on Earth
  6. Dies—Pine Tree Trimmings
  7. Ink—Versamark, Cloud Cover, Memento Black
  8. Silver Drusy Adhesive-Backed Embellishments

Attach the larger piece of DSP to the front of the folded card. Attach the smaller strip on top of that, centering it top to bottom.

Emboss in silver the tree stamp on the Cloud Cover tree. Attach the trees to the front—you don’t have to use them all if you don’t want to—I raised up the embossed one on Dimensionals.

Stamp the ½” piece of Cloud Cover with Cloud Cover ink and attach with Dimensionals.

Stamp the ornaments multiple times across the top of the Basic White piece in Cloud Cover. Use a ruler and the Stampin’ Write marker to draw in the lines to resemble hanging ornaments.. Stamp the sentiment in Memento Black. Attach the inside piece to the card.
