Lovely & Beautiful Bow Card


Are you ready to learn a new fun fold with some new Stampin' Up products? I've heard it called a "bow fold" but if anyone has any other names for it let me know. I've used several products from the new Stampin' Up Suite called Lovely and Beautiful and it is so aptly named! The Designer Series Paper is stunning and the ribbon and embellishments I used on this card are also beautiful. All the pieces of DSP have gold on one side and small patterns on the other side--I love how you get to see both sides of the paper on this card. Let's make this card! Gather your supplies:

  1. Old Olive cardstock—card base 5 1/2" by 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼” on the long side and folded in half along the score line
  2. Lovely & Beautiful Specialty DSP--6" by 6"
  3. Fresh Freesia cardstock--4 1/8" by 5 3/8"
  4. Basic White--inside piece 3 3/4" by 5", second piece die cut with the second smallest Textured Notes dies
  5. Stamp set--Simply Beautiful
  6. Dies--Simply Beautiful, Textured Notes 
  7. Ink—Old Olive and Fresh Freesia
  8. Pearlized Faceted Circles
  9. White with Gold Ribbon
  10. Basic supplies--Bone folder, Paper Snips, adhesive (I like Multipurpose Glue and Seal+), Paper Trimmer, Stamp, Cut and Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick Tool,  Piercing Mat or Glass Mat Studio, Regular Dimensionals, Tear 'N Tape
Start by cutting your DSP. Cut 3/4" off the bottom of the DSP (make sure you notice if either side is directional if you use another DSP). Then place the long (6") side of the DSP on the top of your trimmer and cut a piece at 2 1/2" and 2 more each at 1 3/4". All will be 5 1/4" long.

Attach the 2 1/2" by 5 1/4" piece of DSP to the center of the Fresh Freesia cardstock on the portrait position. Take the 1 3/4" by 5 1/4" pieces of DSP and turn them to the other side and attach just the outer sides of each to the outer edges of the Fresh Freesia. Fold back the center parts of the top and the bottom of the pieces you just glued down--you will start at the top where the center (2 1/2") piece is about to end and taper the fold to the middle so you will have folded a triangle. Do the same on the other 3 edges. You can glue down the triangles or leave them free. Please watch the video for this to make more sense. 

Let's stamp now. Stamp the sentiment on the Textured Notes die cut in Old Olive. Stamp the little bud in Fresh Freesia. Stamp the bud again on the corner of the Basic White inside piece. Take the 3/4" that you trimmed off the DSP and add it to the side of the inside piece, trimming off the end that hangs over before attaching it to the inside of the card. 

  

Wrap a piece of the White with Gold Ribbon around the center of the card, adhering it in the back with Tear 'N Tape. Attach this to your card, add the sentiment piece using Dimensionals. Attach 2 of the smaller, lightest Pearlized Faceted Circles under your sentiment and you are done.   3rd Charming Duck Pond Post This card is a modified gate-fold card as the left front is just 1 1/4". I love how you can use most of the page of the 6" by 6" piece of DSP scenery to make this card. Sometimes I use the back side for the little pieces, but this time I used a separate piece of DSP with just the rushes on it. Enjoy!

  Floating Christmas Tree So if you make a lot of holiday cards like I do, it is time to start working on them! I know, I know, we haven't had Halloween yet, but if you want to send them out before the holiday it is time to get working. And this lovely card was inspired by someone else (sorry I just took a picture of it but there was no name on it so I can't thank you) who used her scraps to make the tree. I took it one step further and made a floating scraps tree. I've been wanting to make a card with this technique for a while and I knew this tree would look fabulous like this. And the second bonus is that I got to use up a ton of Lights Aglow scraps, even the small ones. All you need to do is cut your scraps into 1/2" pieces, attach them to a piece of window sheet and then cut out whatever shape you like. Gingerbread Man & Woman Aren't these gingerbread man and woman just so cute? They are from the new 2025 Sept-Dec Mini Catalog that goes live to everyone at midnight 9/3/25. I am sure they are going to be a big seller, so get yours quickly before they sell out (just my prediction). The stamp set has lots of different expressions for our little gingerbread person, and the dies have many different objects for them to hold, but the cutest part of the bundle is that the die cuts 2 gingerbread men that you fold in half to make a card that can open.  This set is called Gingerbread Man, but I just had to see if I could make a gingerbread woman as he seemed to need a girlfriend. I don't know if you can tell, but her skirt is made from one of the Coneflower Celebrations dies cut from both Real Red and Garden Green cardstock.
